Just graduated so it's time to move on from academia. Job Seeker Location: Western PA Area of expertise: Chemistry/Biochemistry bench work and instrumental analysis. I can run most instruments: Fluorescence anisotropy/polarization, GC/MS, HPLC, FT-IR, UV-VIS, GFAAS, Flame AAS, NMR, XRF, and microplate readers. Education: BS in Chemistry Experience: I've been working my way up the ladder in an academic analytical biochemistry lab for the last 3.5 years. I can run most standard assays: cloning, splicing, all kinds of gels, PCR, protein expression and purification, dsDNA annealing, etc. I also am not afraid to take a wrench to some instruments (the filament in the mass spec blows, I can replace that. Bad fitting on an HPLC pump, I can tear that down and rebuild, replace a laser in an FT-IR etc.) I also have data analysis experience in excel (who doesn't), MATLAB, Kaleidagraph, and SigmaPlot. I also have all the background in chemistry that you would expect from a degree. Looking For: Something that actually uses my skills. Full time is important, benefits not so much. So if you're smart as hell, have a technical background, want to work in a weird area of finance, can work in Connecticut, and aren't just a programmer but also care about your work product, PM me.
