If you stay far enough back the watchers don't bother you at all, so I'd just watch someone else be terrible at a boss I knew how to beat. I don't remember how many summons I went through, but I do remember that not one of them survived and eventually I just killed the watchers myself. Hard to watch other people be bad at a thing you know how to do and not feel the urge to do it right yourself.

Man, this double-caestus Covenant of Champions run is kicking my rear end. On my other characters, I've always been a fan of jolly cooperation because I like doing the bosses with others, so soloing bosses is pretty rough. Last Giant and dragon bro are down, but I'm having a rough time with both Pursuer and Old Dragonrider. Probably going to try Flexile next, see how that goes.

If it's just a soul vessel teleport to the things betwixt, come back to majula and it should be there. At least that's what I had to do the last time they changed the chest item.

Heide's in ng+ seems to be a decent place to get counter invasions. As for the FUGS riposte (or any ultra greatsword really), it's really only oneshot death in ng+, and if all the ticks go through (if you don't know, crits do 1.5x damage on ng+ (2x in ng++, and regular in ng+++ and beyond), and all crits are split into two or three hits, with one less if either of you has FPS below 40). And even then some players have high enough defense to barely survive. It's also very heavy, high stat requiring, and tough to use.

Quoting myself - I looked at it finally and there doesn't seem to be any difference between the overlay in DS2 with GeDoSaTo active and in another game, the panels are all at the bottom of the screen and fairly tiny. Not resizable. However I can't get the buttons on the overlay to actually work so I always have to go out to the main client to do anything. Chatting (provided someone else messages you first) works fine. The buttons not working might be an issue on my end though.

From is pretty new at PC games, consoles are locked to a certain FPS. Frames were used a lot to moderate things in games in the old days -- remember attack speed in Diablo 2? It's probably one of those antiquated practices that save on processing. Durability is (was?) also locked to FPS, since the consoles are pegged at 30 that means on the PC we're dealing with twice the durability drain that console players get. Not quite. The only durability drain that is increased by FPS greater than 30 is that done when you swing your weapon through a corpse or an ally (i.e. a phantom you summoned).

I feel like I really noticed that when I ran through the spider-lands with the Heide spear. My straight pokes would one-shot a group of three of them, but I felt like I was losing durability a lot faster. Probably because of all the flailing limbs of the corpses.
