Yes, but he's 3D printed it and if you chip in a little more, you get a colour photo of the patent application rather than a B/W one.
Now how much are you willing to pay?

But wait, there's more…

Sedona, Az (where the project creator is from) is full of tons of this woo, so it just makes sense. Case in point: http://www.lovesedona.com/01.htm A website that talks about all the "energy vortexes" surrounding Sedona. I wanna say it was also featured in an episode of Penn and Teller's Bullshit a few years back. I can't stand Penn Gillete or else I'd look it up.

Come to think of it, what is it about nutball theories and vortices — why are they so fascinated with such a simple phenomenon?

Well to start with, the things they talk about never fit the definition of a vortex, and the medium involved never fits the definition of energy either.

Chris-chan just doesn't understand half the words he types because his socialization for the past like 9 loving years has been the cadre of people obsessed with him online.

One of them convinced him that he could get a girlfriend if he wore dresses or something like that, claiming it's what all the alpha males do, a few years ago. It's all super sad and weird.

Imagine the typical crazy internet person with a mental problem. Now imagine that person has had like dozens of only slightly less demented people actively trolling them and following their every move online for seriously almost a decade now, and they have a whole wiki about the person.

The thing is, going by their kickstarter profile, their identity is a random amalgam of poo poo they heard once. "Female Lesbian Soul, and Transgender." I'm having to fall back on neutral pronouns, because what the gently caress is that even supposed to mean?

They're an odd person, and intensely autistic, but the people that have spent the past 10 years harassing them and pushing it further are way weirder, and probably more autistic.

The funny thing is that public radio stations did use to send out radios that were only tuned to the station to listeners as donation incentives (presumably with the idea that since you love Genericville Public Radio 89.5 so much as to give them $1000 a year you'd like to stick another radio for them out on the deck along with your tote bag and umbrella). But paying for it yourself directly from some other dudes kinda misses the whole "actually supporting the public station" point.

I have two things about this project that I find difficult to comprehend;
1. You don't get a radio until you get to the $45 tier, correct?
2. They're nearly double the goal level already.

You get all the parts and instructions to put it together yourself for $35, and the $16 level gives you the plans you need to design the board and buy the parts elsewhere to put it together (and might I add that the total cost of the $16 level plus buying the part separate is probably a few bucks less than the cost of the $35 tier).

It's not a crystal radio set, as crystal radios almost exclusively operate on the AM band. It's basically a normal FM radio using off the shelf parts, but you can't use a crystal radio design for that.

No it isn't. It actually handles FM stereo and poo poo. It's overpriced and doesn't really do what they claim (the only tunes to one station thing, they can all be tuned by moving a potentiometer on the circuit board) but it would sound great and have very good reception unlike a crystal radio.

Incidentally, a build-your-own-FM-radio kit for kids of comparable quality typically would cost $20 - $25 including all parts and instructions, albeit taking up more space since it's not designed to fit in a twee little jar.
