PW3? I'm guessing 100%. There are still shitloads of players playing PW2 online.

Great news. I didn't know how well PW2 did, so that's what I was worried about.

Bamco has found that you can babelfish a translation and people will still eat it up, so at the very worst they'll just do that. Not that it'll hurt a Warriors game that much.

Not entirely incorrect.

Also, if stabbing Gohma in the eye with the Fire Rod is wrong, I don't want to be right. :black101:

Man some of these levels on Hyrule Warriors can get pretty long, just did Death Mountain and it took me about 22 minutes to clear it since the part where the Bombchus start coming, the Gorons managed to retake both the boulder keeps and so I had to retake those while running back to the base and dealing with Bombchu attacks.

Be prepared for more running around. You really can't rely on your allies to take care of themselves, and enemies will frequently go after your main base. To me, it's a much better way of adding challenge than Orochi's massive damage.

Wow just lost the stage with ghoma because it wouldn't stop beating the poo poo out of soldiers at the base long enough to let me hit it. Real dumb.

e: other than that it's cool. You can play on hard from the start without enemies being damage sponges which is nice.

Yeah, it seems like there is more battlefield awareness required in this game more so than in the main line games or even the Orochi 3.

It almost did that for me, it wouldn't make its eye vulnerable and the Deku Tree was down to just a sliver of health, and then it retreated back to the enemy keep for some reason. Got really lucky on that.

Actually no don't play on hard the first time because you end up spending 20+ minutes holding block and circling around zant waiting for him to do one of the two attacks that leave him open to countering because hey why bothering attacking normally when the two hits you can get off before he blocks take a hair-thin amount off of his life.

Good as new.
Hyrule Warriors is definitely the most difficult Warriors game I've played. I like it. Every battle is frantic. I've been going through the story on Easy mode, then I plan to go through it again on each subsequent difficulty.

Great fun.

Up front, I have to say I still like WO3 better for the combat (I miss R1 moves), but Hyrule Warriors is still a ton of fun especially once you unlock more combo strings. Lana is my current favorite right now.I also dare say it is probably the best looking Musou game and probably the only one that doesn't (completely) feel like it is being held together with fragile material and unreliable adhesive.

I wonder if it is because that they were into developing this game, or because of the Nintendo Third Party Gulag. Likely both.

Yup, reminds me a lot of SW Chronicles where things can go south before you realise it and high morale enemies are dangerous. Though I've yet to find any objectives that expect you to know about them beforehand and have people nearby otherwise you've no chance.
I failed the first Goron stage because the enemies took over my main camp, I can't remember the last time I had that happen.

You can play local two player co-op (one person has to use the Game Pad), but the frame rate and resolution apparently drop through the floor when you do.

I wish they'd let you know what the requirements for A Rank are in the Adventure Mode stages. It can get pretty annoying KOing 1100 dudes and the game going "Nope that's B Rank, sorry!"

TTBF
Sep 14, 2005

Co-op is basically the graphics going down the drain to keep the frame rate steady. Works decently well. Played with my roommate for about an hour and didn't notice any real framerate issues.

The A rank requirements for non-gimmick stages are beating them in 15 minutes, getting at least 1500 kills and taking less than 10 hearts of damage, with 400 points of damage being equal to a single heart. The exact killcount varies on level, it hovers somewhere around 1200-1500 and on some of the harder levels you can take up to 20+ hearts of damage but if you can fulfill the first set of requirements, you should get an A every time.

The later single-player stages have some framerate issues even in single player. There are times when there are so many enemies on screen that the game cannot properly keep up. It still remains playable, though, so it's not too bad.

Warriors Orochi 3 in any incarnation is one of the better DW games and you're not missing out on much with the Hyper version instead of Ultimate, a couple of characters and that's about it.

Alright, sounds good. Getting some of those A rank rewards is a bit tough, but I suppose I probably shouldn't try too hard until I've gotten more levels and maybe some of the higher ranked weapons.

It was kind of the opposite for me, not that I didn't enjoy the first Samurai Warriors but I hated it when they'd throw you into a castle after being out on the field. It was one of the big contributors to me not playing most of the story modes because to hell with playing a level for 20 minutes and then getting thrown in a castle for 15 minutes and then getting a game over because health pickups are nigh impossible to find inside them.

So when the second game came out and it was like "Hey you're no longer trapped inside a castle for as much time as you spent on the field" that was a huge improvement to me.

Yeah the second samurai warriors ended up being one of my favorite warriors games. It's kind of weird how some of the characterizations shifted from the first though (Hideyoshi going from drooling capering idiot to goofy guy, Masamune being a simple-minded midget to a hot-headed short dude, Tokugawa) thought maybe that was an after effect of the localization

I'm stoked for 4 and I'm looking forward to seeing how the features I really liked from 3DS' 'Chronicles' integrated into this title.

Trying some pvp in Destiny got me so disgusted with the game that I impulsively picked up Hyrule Warriors for a palette cleanser :v: No regrets. I'm a few maps deep in both story and adventure modes and I'm really enjoying it! I'm kind of wondering at what's being considered so difficult about it so far, but then again I'm a veteran of so many of these titles. One thing I've learned from them, is to pay attention to the dialogue and chatter that occurs during a battle, as it often tells you where to go next, and not to ignore your allied officers when they screech for help.
