Though my first case was an Antec 902. Quickly rectified that and got a Fractal Define R2 and sharpied out the power LED.

So are the two different colors of LED meant to show which fans are inflow and which are outflow or am I just reaching here?

Maybe it's to accent the water cooling tubes? Those things are probably flapping around in that wind tunnel.

Red makes the computer run faster, much like flames on cars, while blue keeps the system colder. Green LEDs increase your BitCoin mining rate.

How in the world did we get those two posts back to back after so many good pages? One with no pictures of anything that anyone cares about at all but a very, very vivid description of their entire room and every piece of electronics that inhabits it and then a slew of computer build/spec pictures.

I don't think they care too much about the PC description. They're messing with you because your PC has at least 3 billion fans and LEDs and a case that looks like a transformer.

Just saw this, yeah it's that one. Was not planning on getting this case but it was open box at MicroCenter and I got it for like $55. I'm pleased with it overall, but it's a bit big and I'm thinking for my next build to get something smaller.

Turned 29 this year and decided I needed to move across the country because it's nice over here in Washington and 29 is a great time to do that. I threw out a bunch of my poo poo. Here's where I'm at. No couch yet, so desks are still in the living room.

This is the fruit of my labor today. Everything on my desk just about is hooked into a giant 7-port USB hub. (or my monitor, which also acts as a USB hub) I also have a USB switch and an HDMI switch that router between my PC and my Mac The switches are controlled under my desk as you can see here, keeping my desktop clean. I was okay with duct tape because I can't see it normally anyway. Washington life is great, by the way.

Here's a weird piece of the puzzle. I like my Noppoo keyboard but getting it to work natively on a Mac takes some trickery. For a few months I worked exclusively over Synergy, which was okay at first but overall sucked because modifiers would stick and it would cause mistakes often.

Behind the monitor is party time.

I'm in need of a recommendation for a new desk, as I just got a dual monitor setup and my old desk is tragically too small for it to be comfortable.

Right now I'm looking for something cheap that will comfortably hold two 24' monitors at a distance greater than 5 inches from my face. Longer would be better, as I'm in Uni and plan on using this as a writing desk as well. Is the goon recommendation still the IKEA Jerker (lol) or is there a new king of the cheap desktop throne?

I have the setup you describe on an Ikea Frederik. With the monitors on a single swing arm mount, I have plenty of room to push the keyboard/mouse/speakers back and spread out to do written work.

I too am looking at a new desk. Unfortunately, I don't have an ikea nearby. I don't need anything fancy. I just want a long, wide flat piece of sturdy wood that I can put dual monitors on.

Look at workbenches maybe. It's a lot more difficult and expensive than you might think to find plain, sturdy desks outside of Ikea.

For anyone who cares, that Galant desk has mostly been removed from IKEA's site and has been replace by a new line called the Bekant. Similar shapes, slightly different T-Frame legs.
