If you're from far enough away to need a hotel I'd highly suggest looking into the travel packages which I did for Mania XXX coming from NC to NOLA and it was great, because it was a good deal, included a good hotel room nearby, and tickets to Axxess and the HOF, both of which were fun experiences and a great icing on the cake if you want to make it more of a Mania weekend. Those packages start to go on sale, IIRC, tomorrow night. If you're local, I don't think standalone tickets go on sale for another couple months.

Tickets wise, I'd try to swing for something in the first section off the floor, and my god, try to get as close to midfield as you can. My seats at 29 kicked rear end, but if you were a couple sections over, the big drat pillars holding up the rig above the ring blocked you view.

If I'm lucky I can bring 2-3 friends to help with hotel costs and whatnot. San Francisco's gonna be a bummer crowd, isn't it?

As a point of comparison, my seats corresponded to roughly lower midfield 119. I spent about 700.00 on two tickets on Stubhub. I don't know offhand if the price was more inflated in the New York market, but for WrestleMania, what the hell, I sprung for it.

It'll own. As for budgeting, again I'd look at the packages first, as those lump everything together and might be easier to calculate, not to mention you'd be sure to get everything you want/need. If you do go, I want a trip report. Being at Mania XXX was a really special weekend for me and I'd love to read how XXXI is for someone else.

Is the RVD/Sabu vs Hayabusa/Jinsei Shinzaki generally considered one of Sabu's best? Because I was never a big Sabu fan back in the day but rewatching that match there is some really impressive stuff in it and no notable botches. That combo of top rope rana into frog splash is nutty good even if as good as they are they are sort of out shined by Shinzaki in his prime being a tattooed demonic badass.

sabu's best stuff was probably earlier in his career in FMW before his first major back injury but i'm not familiar with that stuff so i can't really say. apparently he used to be able to 450 splashes and stuff before then. one of his best matches that i've seen (and i've seen quite a few) was actually his match against rey mysterio at one night stand 2006. it's another case where he appeared to be really on that night and didn't botch much of anything. If you have to opportunity to rewatch it again tune out the high spots and the crowd pops and focus on what Sabu is doing he is a great worker in it.

the thing with sabu is that his offense was very high-risk in that a lot of it is really easy to mess up. he definitely was able to work, it was just hitting his flippier moves consistently that could be a problem hahah. he clearly has his off nights and his on nights.

Heard incredible thing about it/am a huge WCCW fan so I was trying to find a copy of it. Had two limited hard copy publishings and is now out of print. Sadly it is never going to be republished again via hard copy or ebook. Gary's co-author (Philip Varriale) thinks that due to some of the content he is liable to be sued. There's some sketchy things in the book but no different from a lot of biographies. Court Bauer offered to pay a lawyer to look over it and Varriale still wasn't interested. The book had a now or never moment a couple of months ago as Steve Austin raved about it on his podcast and started a mini-campaign partly aided by Twitter to get it republished. Varriale and Gary's sons weren't interested.

Isn't this the match where Sabu either gets a splinter or traps his fingers picking up a table? He stops and shakes his hand and shouts gently caress. That always makes me laugh, just the image of a guy who has done crazy barbed-wire matches and worked through gashing open his arm selling so much for a finger injury.

About 10 years ago I got very drunk at 4 a.m. and decided to cut a bagel in half. Ended up slicing open my middle finger. Instead of going to the emergency room I just superglued it shut. Left a hideous thick scar. It's much worse than it would have been if I treated it the sane way by getting stitched up. Reading up on the practice... Using non-medical super glue to close wounds creates a seal of heat in the wound, which furthers the tissue damage. This leads to nasty scars, thick and bulbous, and a higher rate of getting a subdural infection which would require antibiotics and possibly lancing.
