Now's the time to make a move. Not later. Certainly not after the next bubble pop where you might get stuck doing jack poo poo, or worse, laid off.

apparently python 3.4 introduced a statistics module into the standard library. this module includes a new exception type, StatisticsError, which is just a "subclass of ValueError for statistics-related exceptions". reading through the first page linked above, it looks like StatisticsError is only ever raised when a function expects a non-empty collection but receives an empty one. basically, a situation where elsewhere i'd expect to see ValueError raised. please help this idiot programmer understand: why isn't a simple ValueError raised instead? why did the module authors bother subclassing ValueError here? i understand in general why exception hierarchies exist and are useful, but in this particular case i don't understand why they didn't just make use of ValueError as-is.

That's stupid and the module authors blew it. If something already exists and does the job fine, you're supposed to use it, not make another thing that does the same thing (and then not even use it).

okay i installed windows 8.1 in a vm and i'm using this Express Written Permission i have from valve to use game assets in my applications to write a thing and become a BILLIONAIRE overnight (not really) now writing it is easy of course but making a fancy Metro Windows 8.1 RT ui that works for devices of varying resolution will probably be hard as i, an autist, cannot design beautiful things
