It literally means it repels oil. Your greasy fingerprints can still get on the screen but it will be much easier to clean and wipe away with a microfiber cloth. Whereas if it were not oleophobic you'd probably just end up spreading the prints around on the screen and might need some cleaning solution to remove the prints.

Got my 6+ last night, with 8.0.0 included. Cellular data did not work, so I upgraded to 8.0.2 today and it still doesn't work. I thought the cell data problem was only with 8.0.1?

And for a problem like that they'd probably let you just skip the line.

Call Applecare, then. It's certainly covered on warranty. Are you sure you're using a phone for the proper provider or an unlocked phone?

You should be able to walk into your carrier's local store and get it fixed.

I don't have my microfiber cloth with me and I feel like my tshirt will just make it work so I didn't bother trying to wipe it.

I went nearly 2 years of rubbing the face of my 5 on my jeans and it was still completely free of scratches. The phone was replaced for unrelated reasons so a couple months ago is when the "testing" ended.

Yeah compare wiping a greasy fingerprint off your phone to wiping a greasy fingerprint off the nearest window to see how much difference the oleophobic coating makes.

Just wipe it off on your jeans or jorts or whatever. People actually carry microfiber cloths with them? Pants and shirts work fine, that's kind of the point of the oleophobic coating.

I have my bag and MacBook with me and usually keep a cloth around to clean my computer screen. What's interesting is that my phone seems to no longer have fingerprints all over the screen, probably from going in and out of my tight jeans pocket. Phone is still not bent FYI

After adding my local store as a favorite in the app it shows "Your Starbucks Card will appear on the lock screen when you arrive" and now in Passbook the option to "Show On Lock Screen" is on. I have done none of that, and had tons of Starbucks show up when I am near them (More than just one location) and also the same with Chase Banks.

I have a scheduled email that comes everyday at 8am, and often I don't get it until I refresh within Mail.app.

So the battery life on my 6 hasn't been impressing me and I was poking around to figure out why. Turns out iTunes Match has been downloading all of my music in the background. I don't remember telling it to download any large playlists, I told it to download a couple small ones the other night but nothing else. I am super worried now because I have been out and about all day and it may have been using cellular. My cellular usage is at 38GB, but I don't know if that is carried over from my iPhone 5. I called Rogers (Canada) and asked them about it since I hadn't received any notification that I had gone over my data (6GB). They said I would receive a message if I went $50 over and it would cut me off unless I opted back in. My phone currently shows over 40GB of music on it. I just disabled cellular for match and music. I can't find anywhere that says I am downloading any music at the moment but now I'm worried to do anything. EDIT - OK, I am feeling safe now. My life to date totals carried over from my iPhone 5 show just 5GB of cellular data from Music and iTunes so all of today's iTunes shenanigans appear to be on wifi. I guess the couple hours of wifi downloading at home made it seem like my battery was going down fast. Probably mystery solved. Shoota_McG fucked around with this message at 01:05 on Oct 1, 2014 |

Chase app only has two options in Location Services. Never or While Using the App. It's set to While Using. I walked into a Chase earlier to take out money. It's right across from the Starbucks I was in earlier that also didn't pop up on my lock screen.

It has nothing to do with the settings on the Chase app. You need to have Suggested Apps turned on.

A tall, built dude walked me to my car and everything was fine, but goddamn, is this really a thing?

Lol if you think lady pants pockets are anywhere near big enough for this thing. But really, is this a valid security concern? Do they make a Spigen case that holds credit cards AND pepper spray? Or, god forbid, am I going to have to start using a purse because if I carry a 6+ around in my hand all day I'm going to get mugged?

Depending on where you are, the 6 Plus might be rare enough to be a very tempting theft target - especially if you've just spent 30 minutes in-store completing the purchase, and you're walking out with a brand new boxed phone. Or the store might've had a bad experience where someone got jacked in the carpark for their new phone!

They probably had someone get jumped outside of one of their stores so they implemented a company wide policy because of it.
