Maybe try to not fire your gun wildly at every enemy. Oh awesome, I'm out of ammo and I'm surrounded by enemies, well at least I can run oh wait now she's knocked down, better run to help oh poo poo she's dead. That's why I didn't even think about playing that game in single player. I read several reviews talking about the retarded AI and I immediately told my sister to get the game so we didn't have to deal with that poo poo. + RE5 added strafing instead of tank controls. - Everything else

The trick to making the vehicle fights easier is to stealth the gently caress out of them. Sneakily stealth and capture every soldier, fulton them away (or let the tank roll them over), and then the tank commander will pop out in short order if you haven't been spotted yet. Then tranq him, and the mission is over. The game rebalances things for coop, but having multiple dudes can make life easier.

I played RE5 solo quite a few times and never had any problems with the AI. I really think people blew that whole thing out of proportion. I just gave her a gun that I wouldn't use and very few first aid sprays and she just went about her business being a mildly incompetent teammate. But then again in RE6 I was capable of climbing the rope so I might be broken enough that Capcoms bad decisions aren't that big a deal for me.

I was never a superhuman badass with the RE controls like Lunethex was in his LP of RE6. I was accident prone, got hit a lot, and rarely used my melee to conserve ammunition because I couldn't pull off headshots all the time. When it came to doing a professional run, I was thankful that I had a partner that was an actual person.

Noting really game-breaking but it was kind of frustrating to have a game that felt like it was meant to be re-played several times yet was still as long as ponderous as your average JRPG making re-plays a huge investment.

Planetside 2: The inability to go to VR training while in a queue. If you access the continent terminal it promptly flashes your queue status and your option is "Continue playing" or "Leave queue" When I'm in an 18 loving minute queue (which in reality is like 40 minutes) and the majority of players have hosed off to the continent I'm trying to get on or are just sitting in their warpgates doing nothing while waiting for their queues I want to actually do something. But no, if I want to go to VR I have to leave the queue, lose my spot, enter VR, then renter the queue at the very end of the list. Even better? If you use the redeploy mechanic to deploy from one continent to another without using the terminal it promptly kicks you out of the queue. There is no way to get around this. Your rear end is in that queue and you are stuck in your current continent unless you want to forfeit your spot in line.

I guess it bothers me because the in-fiction reason for the troop escort is because you can't see very well from inside a tank, so to have it work the opposite way in practice just clangs. Same thing with how circle-strafing when the tank commander yells out his attack like he's in Dragonball Z is the right way to dodge the missiles; it makes perfect sense for a video game but your real-life knowledge is saying "no that looks way wrong"

Been waiting to see someone post Shadow of Mordor in here so I could yell at them, but I'm about halfway through the game and I have a complaint. Okay, so they make this awesome, really fun open world game with tons of stuff to do, and they have two different advancement systems. One is experience, which you gain through obvious methods, and the other is power, which you gain through killing high ranking orcs and doing events with them. The problem is that your skills are unlocked with experience, but your skill tiers are unlocked with power. This wouldn't be a big deal if you play the game the "correct" way, but I chose to dick around for the first several hours which netted me a shitload of experience but not very much power since the only way to get it at that point was killing orcs and they only gave like 5 or 6 and you need 150 or so to unlock the second tier. Well, if you play a couple story missions, you unlock events that just poo poo out power all over the place. The problem is I got all of my easy levels and spent all my points in the first tier because I thought they would be plentiful with how long it was taking to get power. Now I have power falling out of my rear end and it takes forever to level up and I wish I had saved my skill points or had known the experience system was going to slow down so much and the power accumulation rate was going to get a massive boost. Other than that the game is amazing. E: One other, semi-story related thing. (early on) Gollum is super annoying. It was impressive seeing what they could do with CGI and Andy Serkis's acting abilities in LOTR, but the character is annoying and feels really shoehorned into the plot of the game. mr. mephistopheles has a new favorite as of 08:53 on Oct 2, 2014 |

Otherwise it's a pretty great game but it can be hard as nails at the start because there are just orcs everywhere. You just want to grad one Orc for some Intel? Well tough luck, there was a patrol of ten orcs close by who heard your fight and now it's a full scale battle. Oh hey one of them is a captain. And one other captain you fought before decided this is the perfect time to drop in and settle the score. And the mockery you get when you run away and meet them next time isn't helping

I've mentioned this a few times in the thread but, the main thing bringing down Hyrule Warriors for me is, the lack of voice acting, I know this is something Nintendo rarely does, but you can't have a Dynasty Warriors game where nobody talks, and talking in text and awful voice clips doesn't really count either. If I hear Lana go "Kyaahh, "Hwahhhhh", Eyaarrrhh" one more time, I'll probably go deaf. I could also complain about the allied AI being mostly useless but, that's a long standing tradition with DW/Musou games.

One more about Fallout New Vegas, I'm sorry. I've killed every NPC in the Legion, including the leader, second-in-command, there's literally nobody left. Then, I nuked their ultimate stronghold. With a nuclear missile. A full goddamn nuke. It left a big hole and then I went in and killed all the ghoul-survivors too. They're still sending killsquads after me. Where are the clone production facilities man help!

There's scattered groups of them all over the place that wouldn't be around for the nukes or whatever - they control at least the whole state of Arizona, possibly more. And I don't even remember Dry Wells being an "ultimate stronghold," it was just where Ulysses was from originally. I was also under the impression that The Fort was just kind of where they were amassing forces for the upcoming battle rather than being a permanent HQ but I don't know. But I think the real answer here is just "it's a video game." Same reason Skyrim still has dragons spawning after you stop the source of the dragons.

F.E.A.R: The only reason to use the pistol is so you can pick up another one and use the badass and surprisingly efficient dual pistols. Which makes it a real disappointment that pistols only ever appear singly, and if you backtrack between the last two places you saw a pistol, you'll still only have 72 bullets, which isn't really enough to use them for more than a couple of rooms (36 shots per "clip.) If you drop the pistols for another weapon, it's inordinately difficult to ever use them again. The Perseus Mandate expansion pack, while flawed in many respects, puts pistols two-at-a-time whenever they're placed in a level, which is slightly less realistic but SO much more convenient.

Which actually reminds me - if he hasn't gotten to Legate Lanius, then that means there's a pretty sizable camp of Legion soldiers in Nevada that haven't been wiped out yet because it's inaccessible until the battle for the dam.

Samurai Warriors 2 made me go cross-eyed with that feature. Hanzo's second mission (Mikatagahara escape) is probably the worst of them all. It's completely reasonable if Katsuyori Takeda's cavalry assault runs Ieyasu down, sure. But a random squad of one-shot-kill spearmen without any generals or officers around? He has a five-man personal guard and a pike that shoots cannonballs, for pete's sake.

U.T. Raptor posted:This is a longstanding problem with various Warriors games, and it's always annoying. This is a problem, I think, with an offshoot of the Warriors games called Bladestorm. I like the premise--it's the Hundred Years War and you aren't as super human as a Dynasty/Samurai warrior, so you need to attach yourself to a squad of dudes and lead them to victory--but if you try to pursue engagements or capture forts and your ally NPC squads aren't trying the same thing, you are going to get your poo poo wrecked. So you often have to follow what the computer is doing, and if your squad is whittled down you need to hope there's a replacement nearby (or that you bought an item to replenish your numbers). And even if you do everything right and kick all the rear end, with a score thousands of points higher than everyone on the field, your side can still lose because the guys on your side hosed up. They're re-releasing Bladestorm with added content (monsters!) on PS4 this year or early next, so I'm curious if it's been improved at all.

The worst part about Destiny to me is that grinding for the materials required to level up your gear is simply boring at best and completely annoying at worst. You literally run around a map and hold square on certain plants or rocks or whatever to gather resources. Couldn't they have some mission that nets you materials instead? The game is also in desperate loving need of additional content, at least within the next month or so. I feel like I'm trapped in Milhaus's "jimminy jellikers" scene with Peter Dinklage or Lance Reddick saying "we've got to do the Aksor Archon Priest again!" But we already did it. It took seven hours but we did it. It's done. Been playing New Vegas on PS3 and I'm wondering why they released this game if it crashes every two hours.
