Before the Nexus update the Trials roulette was an easy way to pick up a chunk of weekly soldiery and saw common use, so there were always people floating around in potential roulette groups for the game to match to the new players who were doing it for relic. Same for all the duty battles on the way to i80, really. It's even MORE common now due to the prevalence of Nexus light farmers. Granted, Titan isn't always up for the bonus light but at least a couple times a day if you're a new person queuing for Titan HM you'll get a party ridiculously fast, even as a DPS. ...and then a squadron of seven utterly silent, terrifying shitwreckers geared to i110 with impressive glowing weapons will ignore you entirely, charge Titan, bring him down within a few minutes, and vanish without saying a word, if my farming experiences are any indication.

Titan HM is pretty hilariously fast now. Titan EX is something I kinda want to do at some point but I'd much rather do current content and well no reason to do him whatsoever.

I want to say the extreme primal comes up as a bonus at the same time the corresponding hard primal does. Take this with salt. Problem is, they're only 6 points with bonus compared to hard's 4. And even if you don't wipe horribly a million times (which you can reasonably expect to unless you're going with your static or maybe doing Garuda or Leviathan), I'm pretty sure the fights still take more than 1.5 times as long as their hard mode equivalents. Now, if extreme primals gave a tier or two higher (newborn star with bonus would be sweet but possibly excessive, but at least blinding with bonus would be worth considering), I could see PFing a set group to spam some extremes. As it is, they don't give nearly enough light for their success rate with a pug, or their time efficiency with a set group.

I've been grinding fishing to 50 recently and it really makes me want to play Animal Crossing. Then I thought "Hey, there is personal rooms and personal housing. It'd be rad to make fish tanks that put in fully modeled fish that I capture". Basically I want to fill my entire room with fish tanks on the floor just like in animal crossing.

So, the wife and I are trying to find a new MMO to sink time into. Honestly I feel like the WoW style gameplay is pretty stale, and my fear is that's what FFXIV might be. I played WoW for years (also played FFXI a bit before that), and it just started to feel like I was doing the same thing with different animation for a lot of the characters. Is there much difference at the endgame level? Is the endgame decent? Is leveling fun? These are all questions I'm sure I could find the answers to elsewhere, but I'd rather pester you guys about it.

Levelling is fantastic, but the game is definitely WoW-like (though quite different in some ways). Even if you don't re-up, you can play through the main story in a month or so, and that's definitely worth the price of admission.

Current endgame is a treadmill wherein later patches buff parties to make old content easier, allowing non-hardcore raiders to catch up. That said, raiding is fun if you enjoy raiding. If you don't have 7 other friends to consistently play with, you will suffer every week because you will only pick up a good pubbie every 3 out of 10 times. But this shouldn't be a problem if you join the goon guild. If you're a hardcore raider you will likely complete whatever the current raid content is within 2 months, whereas a major patch comes once every 4 months. Leveling is fun, huge variety of dungeons and really polished main storyline with tons of cutscenes. Most of us have better things to do than to spend hours doing hundreds of FATEs that give nothing with no progress bar. "like a day and a half" is bullshit unless you're a) extremely lucky, or b) some kind of atma wizard with RNG reduction spells.

Hiroshi NQ got 12 atma in 14 hours live on stream. Garin got 12 atma in a day and a half just a few months ago. The problem people have with atma is subtly hinted at in this thread by the complainers. You aren't grinding hard enough. "I did fates for 100 hours" really means "I did 2 fates and then quit". Just sit down, and bang it out, and it's over.
