like i was really into future islands a couple years ago and ofc the soaring theatrical poo poo is a major part of what's cool about them, but the grandiosity at least seemed to feel kind of natural whereas lately it's like the dude just has a set of rehearsed Emotions Moves he runs through one after the other.

its a good song, and i actually feel what d-w is saying but at the same time its very fun to watch a dude on national tv arrhythmically thump his chest to emphasize emotion in a song lyric and to hear that thumping over the song b/c the mic is slightly too close to his chest
