What's hilarious is that if you watch the "making of" featurette for that game, you can tell why they voiced his video game avatar with Mickey Rourke. The guy sounds like a grandmother.

I find it funny that the tagline is "The Defining Chapter" when the entire movie is an adaptation of one chapter of the book. A background event from that chapter, no less, because this is Middle Earth and we have to have epic fantasy fights in our adaptation of a literal children's book.

I know the guy who's making this. Ghost Shark 2 is still in post-production, and has been made for practically nothing in New Zealand over the last four years. Then suddenly Sci-Fi puts out a trailer for THIS back in 2011; Starring Richard Moll of all people. Thus being the first case I know of a movie being ripped-off by it's unrelated "prequel" before it even comes out. Suffice it to say, the director is less than happy with Sci-Fi.

Meanwhile, other friends of mine took SIX years to complete their feature film, JAKE. Finally saw limited release here this year. Also coming out of New Zealand this year, a documentary on the world's oldest hip-hop crew. LEXI, a drama about two people who can't make eye conact with each other, apparently... and THE DEAD LANDS, the first-ever Maori Martial Arts flick. Colour me intrigued.
