this will ensure that no matter how many $ google spends in brussels they will still get hosedquote:That includes challenges by “disruptive” business models, like those coming out of Silicon Valley. Indeed, the reason politicians like Mr. Gabriel — who has said “we must tame Silicon Valley capitalism”— go after Amazon and Uber is that it is a surefire way to get votes. Even politicians who are normally pro-deregulation, like Mr. Oettinger, know it’s smart to come down hard on tech companies. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/11/opinion/sunday/why-germans-are-afraid-of-google.html

i used to not use adblock until a bunch of articles came out about how ads and like/+1 buttons were widely used as a vector for cross-site user tracking and lmao leave it to the ad networks to give me a great reason to block them entirely

i replaced the hd in my desktop and didn't reinstall adblock right away. looked at a car manufacturer website and suddenly every single other website i went to was covered with ads for that car. it was really creepy. so adblock + ghostery went back on. internet advertising is such creepy in your face poo poo that google made all their money on making a slightly less poo poo version of it.
