For any of y'all who are Wilco fans, I'd highly encourage you to check out Tweedy's album Sukierae. It's Jeff Tweedy on vocals/drums and his 18-year-old son Spencer (who you might remember from their documentary I Am Trying To Break Your Heart) on drums. There's 20 songs, so it's a lot of material to absorb. It's honestly better than anything Wilco has done for years, though, and it's really nice to see this father/son duo play together and compliment each other really well. Plus there's this one song that sounds kinda like something Modest Mouse might have done circa The Moon & Antarctica era. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6MW8ZQwVMw Rageaholic fucked around with this message at 23:10 on Sep 20, 2014 |

I like how every time I listen to XM radio the stations just have to let me know that "THIS IS WHERE NEW MUSIC IS, BEFORE YOUR FRIENDS KNOW!!!". I just want to know about new bands, but stroking my ego on my way to work is cool too I guess. Avi Buffalo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yZmYKZmDzI - Very chill, mellow rock. My personal favorite off the album so far, but the entire thing is pretty consistently good. SAILS - recently released a new single titled 'Getting It On With You". It's loving fantastic, but I can't find it online to share with you all.

Equally enjoying the Avi Buffalo album and also the album from The Los Angeles Police Department very twee indie. The album is consistently great. Los Angeles Police Department - "She Came Through…: http://youtu.be/mDlpMHrlknA And the hugely long James Yorkston album which has some great highlights but could have 10 songs chopped out IMO. James Yorkston - Fellow Man : http://youtu.be/AxwSXxO7dPA

I have a boner for medievalist music and Carloman is really good. It's like baroque pop if you took out the baroque and replaced it with medieval folk music instead. The same guy does The Electric Madrigal Society, which is a lot softer--it's madrigals played on electric guitar, and it's hella peaceful.

I was kind of disappointed with how saccharine this new song is, but I'm optimistic for the album. From Tunde Adebimpe: "We’ve been through a lot of stuff in the past few years that could have stopped the band cold, but I’m glad we got it together and took stock of the unique connection we have between each other because the record is, 1000%, without a doubt, the best thing we’ve ever done." So I guess if he's that confident about it, I have no reason not to be.

Hey Rosetta! is releasing their new album Second Sight at the end of October. The last two albums were both amazing. The new single Kintsukuroi, which means 'to repair with gold' in Japanese, is good so I have high hopes. http://youtu.be/S23-lI4brnQ It's also kind of funny because another popular Canadian indie rock band, the Rural Alberta Advantage, just released their third album and its called Mended With Gold. A coincidence or Canadian music conspiracy?

Saw the show last night and it was crazy and amazing and I'm jealous he lives in LA and they get to see him more than once a year. Also met the band in person and they're all great guys, even if the bassist (Magic Jake?) looks like a guy that lost custody of his kids in 1987. Either way I have never seen so many skinny white kids lose their mind at the same time when he played Alone and Stoned at the end of the show. People were crowd surfing all over the place and the poor security guy didn't know what to do RedneckwithGuns fucked around with this message at 06:06 on Oct 3, 2014 |

Another Canadian band (although they're originally from main) The Barr Brothers is releasing an album next week. It can be streamed on the CBC website for the weekend, although you probably have to be Canadian. http://music.cbc.ca/#/blogs/2014/9/First-Play-the-Barr-Brothers-Sleeping-Operator It's pretty quiet folk but gets nice and bluesy sometimes. Been described as Americana.

Super Furry Animals' lead guitarist has a new album streaming today: https://soundcloud.com/strangetown-records/sets/the-pale-blue-dots-lots-of/s-eSrBc Musically, it's probably the most SFA-sounding thing that's come out of their hiatus aside from his vocals, which sound nothing like Gruff's.
