I've LOOT sorted, Bashed and cleaned everything LOOT yelled at me about with TES5Edit without fixing it but when I get home I'll try the above .ini fix and go through the steps in the stability guide and see if that helps. That could be you running out of VRAM. If you're using an ENB make sure you adjust the settings properly. If you aren't using an ENB, try using ENBoost and see if that fixes your problem. Also if you have a bunch of really high resolution texture mods try disabling some.

Am I going crazy or is there an overhaul mod that gives each area of the map its own distinct climate? Like Riverrun and that area are vaguely tropical, up near Solitude is more snowhell, etc.

Between ENBoost and Skyrim Project Optimization things *seem* to be fixed, I was able to quick travel to Whiterun which was causing a crash almost every time before. Load times are a bit longer but nothing horrible. Only ran it for a few hours, I'll give it some proper stress testing later this week. Thanks for the help.

Oh right forgot to mention that SMCO can be really really good for fixing issues with VRAM usage with basically no noticeable difference. The feature that compresses DDS textures is the only thing you'd really want to use (definitely don't use the NIF compressor), but that one function works really well and basically made all my load times a fraction of what they were with no noticeable loss in quality. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13529/

Is there a common blacklist for Wintermyst procer? And/or any idea's why adding it makes SUM take 10,000 years?

Because Wintermyst can take up to 30 minutes to complete, it just takes a long time.

Check LtSmash and my posts recently for possible solutions. Consider running patchers individually so you can set the command line options. You may need to use the 4GB patcher on your javaw.exe so it can let you use more ram. You can also use the -AllModsAsMasters command line option with the new Lootification and ASIS. Finally, the Wintermyst proccer is pretty much useless IMHO, since Lootification will distribute the Wintermyst enchants.

Like Riverrun and that area are vaguely tropical, up near Solitude is more snowhell, etc. This sounds interesting but my Google-fu isn't strong enough to find anything like it. In poking around looking for more mods for a new game, I saw something pretty interesting. The authors of JK overhauls and Dawn of overhauls have decided to team up and create compatibility patches. Instead of the main esp from either, you grab each of their compatibility esps and have both overhauls at once. They've got Solitude down so far but that looks to be all. I like when modders come together instead of getting all . For my new run I'm doing SkyRe again but with Deadly Combat and Revenge of the Enemies instead of its combat and AI modules. Supporting mods are Morrowloot 4E, Scarcity, iNeed, less gold, High Level Enemies, the Populated mods, Monster Mod lore edition, Touring Carraiges with fast travel disabled, and Frostfall on hardcore. My last run had me farting around Solstheim in Deathbrand armor with Dragonbone weapons and 100,000 gold by level 40 and finding every fight where I wasn't up against a Draugr who could shout really easy. Another cool looking one I'm going to try that compliments the list and haven't really seen mentioned much is Convenient Horses. It lets you store stuff on your horse, talk to NPCs, tell it to stay back during a fight, has a quick dismount, gives followers horses, gives you various horse summons, pretty much makes horses integral instead of a neat side thing.

Sneak Tools gives you some stuff like noisemaker arrows which you can use to distract enemies while you pick them off, in addition to the ability to slit the throats of unaware enemies. But that won't really help you escape from enemies once spotted since the whole sneak skill revolves around stopping you from being detected, not helping you escape once detected. SPERG does make some changes that could help such as the Shadow Warrior perk, but you'll still come across some difficulty working with that play style. Your best bet will probably be relying on some magic to cloak yourself. SPERG lets you upgrade your invisibility spells so that you don't make any sound during them and attacks will pass right through you, which might be able to help you escape back into an undetected state, but I haven't tried it myself.

There's also ACE. I switched to it from SPERG because it doesn't make the game quite so easy, and SPERG was conflicting with some other nice mods I was using (can't remember which.)

Basically, mod organizer throws out this error (and a few others related to it): 21:17:42 [W] request failed: Host nmm.nexusmods.com not found If I let MO run LOOT through the sort button I get this: Error: Masterlist update failed. Details: Git operation failed. Error: -1; Failed to send request: The server name or address could not be resolved And if I run the LOOT executable itself via MO I get this: •Error: Masterlist update failed. Details: An error occurred while trying to update the masterlist. This could be due to a server-side error. Try again in a few minutes.

Ron Paul Atreides posted:In the OP, when it talks about loading the Unofficial Patchs' BSAs in the right order, what is that referring to? When you place your mods in the Data folder the game loads the contents of BSA files in the same order as the corresponding .esm & .esp files. So if you sort your plugin loadorder properly, everything will be fine. Mod Organizer doesn't put mods in the Data folder. It keeps them elsewhere and presents the mods' files to the game as it boots via unholy voodoo. MO also adds an installation order (left side of the screen in MO), in addition to the plugin loadorder (right side of the screen in MO). In older versions of MO, the installation order would trump the plugin loadorder. So if you had your loadorder properly sorted, but had the USKP lower in your installation order then the UDBP, then MO would present the USKP version of the scripts to the game instead of the UDKP ones. Which would result in your computer blowing up. Well, not really. Just you not being able to absorb dragon souls. The creator of MO fixed this and it presents the BSA files to the game in same order as the corresponding plugins positions in your loadorder, regardless of the BSA files' installation order. So again: if you sort your plugin loadorder properly, everything should be fine. That all said. I'd say it's still a good idea when using MO to have your installation order follow your loadorder, unless you want certain loose files from one mod to overwrite some other mod's loose files. If only so that your force yourself to pay attention to your installation order.

Is there a way to set up ENB so that it only enables Depth of Field when indoors, or failing that lets set you a toggle hotkey for it? I like the atmosphere the effect adds inside but don't like it outdoors. Having to bring up ENB's ingame menu each time is annoying and immersion-killing There was a mod called "ENB SSAO and DoF Toggler for Skyrim" that let you bind toggling DoF to a hotkey, but it was made for an older version of ENB and doesn't work anymore

For large numbers of mods it sounds like a huge pain to sort all of them to match your load order but you actually only have to get the ones with the lightning bolts with + or - signs on them sorted. MO looks at the contents of mods and uses the lightning bolts to tell you about conflicts. If there is a + it means that mod is overwriting another mod's files and if there is a - it means that mod's files are being overwritten by another mod. You can right click and choose info then go to conflicts and it will list all files that are conflicting with other mods. Install order is very important with texture replacers since they don't always have esm/esps.

I'm kind of at my wit's end here trying to figure out what is going wrong with loading my saves. It wasn't related to that mod from before, it was just an unfotunate coincidence. So the game plays fine for a while, saves will save and load pretty fast, but then out of nowhere saves start to load really slowly, but transitions are still snappy. A quickload that should take a second takes minutes. I tried all kinds of bullshit to fix this: reverting to older saves and doing completely different quests, waiting 30 days in a house, nuking the papyrus section of my savegame (just to see if it had any effect), loading from an MO profile that has nothing but the base game, etc. I am just stumped. Nothing was added or removed in between "working" and "broken", closest thing would be a week or two before that having switched some mods to download from Nexus instead of manually (because of MO download issues). I tried validating files, but all it did was alter some Steam install script and restore the intro logo video. The only thing I can find is by using some savegame utilities, that there are no orphaned/unattached scripts, but maybe there are hanging process threads? I noticed some saves have what seems like a lot more form ids, no idea what that could mean. For all I know I was an idiot and unintentionally moved some critical mod out of order. modlist.txt (The "Revert" mods are really simple custom mods I made to undo some of the unofficial patch's "fixes") plugins.txt skyrim.ini skyrimprefs.ini Saves to compare (You probably don't even need the mods installed to see the effect; I didn't)
