A lynching party? What?

The new challenges rules are to prevent sole targets from being able to survive waaaay longer than they should be able to in combat, I think they work much better.

Reading the 6th edition book, the only real differences are that wounds spillover both ways now, and Moral Support (one reroll per 5 cheerleaders) was taken out. This seems MUCH better. For challenges between big badass models, you can still get a multi-round battle to the death like before, but now the backup squad is much more important. The new rules also mean that Abaddon can actually murder his way through an entire platoon instead of calmly picking his way through a queue of throw away sergeants.

What are the FW rules for Minotaurs like? I like their models and fluff.

Chapter tactics are geared towards "assault the enemy on their half of the board"

Characters are:
Moloc is chapter master with preferred enemy (space marines) but all space marines are desperate allies, S6 AP2 I5 attacks, 2+/3++ eternal warrior, fearless, his unit ignores initiative penalties from terrain
Enkomi is chaplain with option for AP3 crozius and +1 attack for 10 points, and also has rage (his unit gets +2 attacks on the charge instead of +1)
Aiakos has contemptor save +1 (is HQ or elites? page is headed "HQ" but box on bottom says "elites")
Kraatos is a 60 point upgrade to devastator sgt., has heavy bolter with 48" s6 ap3 heavy 1 sniper option, and preferred enemy (everything without AV other than artillery I guess?)

I'm using up some pig iron heads I bought forever ago along with some Catachan and Cadian bodies I have to put together a 200 point kill team, and I am almost halfway done.

I like the colors I chose, but I'm not too crazy about my conversions. I'm used to Orks so making everything neat and tidy is a foreign concept to me.

Question- what veteran heavy weapons team would be more useful in a Killteam versus MEQ? Heavy Bolter or Autocannon?

Well, a BS 4 guardsman will kill (3*2/3*2/3*1/3) half a marine every round with a HB and (2*2/3*5/6*1/3) a third of a marine every round with an autocannon, so I'm gonna go with a heavy bolter. And when you get really lucky with a heavy bolter you kill 3 marines versus 2, and the heavy bolter has more utility against non-MEQ soooo yeah.

Normally autocannon is great because it's also good for plinking vehicles but in kill team you probably want to stick with volume of shots.

Whichever you pick, don't forget you can make it Relentless if it's a Specialist!

FYI my Chaos kill team is absolutely terrible so I heartily recommend using aesthetics as a tiebreaker. It's also Nurgle, so Autocannon v. Heavy Bolter is a much narrower call (30% kill to 33% kill). That said, Direwolf is still right.

Darn tootin'. I haven't played Kill Team but I feel plague marines would be a special kind of nightmare in that context, ugh.

Looking for feedback: so my overall army scheme is Green/Silver, with black, gold and red highlights on certain things/weapons. My terminators have Dark Angels Green bodies and legs, and silver arms/hands, and black/silver weapons; I initially painted my Belial with gold arms, to make him stand out as a leader, but I'm not sure it came out well. He has a cape, which should help distinguish him, but what do people think about ways to make him stand out beyond the cape and his wargear?

Give him those goofy wings from the Deathwing kit or a big ol' back banner. There's not too many other options available since the model's been built from a really detailed kit.

My best friend uses it a fair bit in apoc games. It's a real bastard to move and hits like a loving truck-- I remember it once got off something like 90+ attacks on a terminator squad that was unlucky enough to get too close for comfort. Thunderfire cannons/quad launchers and massed bolter fire (hello 30k Fury of the Legion) make it bleed from the rear end, though.

Don't have it myself, but someone on 4chan is posting tidbits.

Ferrum Infernus Dreadnought.

It's a Venerable Dread type, without the BLARG GRIBBLE NO BINKY THEY'RE ON OUR SIDE! table. Instead, it has a choice of three upgrades.

1 is Host of Daemonic Icon - Gains Daemonic Resilience (need to look that up), and any Hull Point lost in HTH causes a S4 AP3 on the offending unit - MEH!

Destroyer of Cities - Gets the Assault Drill (fun!) and Flamespurt Cannon(?), +1 front AV, and has Move Through Cover, and in Cities of Death gets Wrecker.

But the besterest?

Lord of the Long War. I'll skip the flavour text for now....but...if it's destroyed by an EXPLODES result? Roll a D6.
1-2 Replace it with a Chaos Spawn
3-4 Re-roll the damage dice. Needs a second ASPLODE result to do so, otherwise apply the re-roll result
5-6 DEAR GODS. IT'S ONLY GONE AND HATCHED INTO A SODDING GREAT DAEMON PRINCE! (as per Dark Apotheosis result on Boon table).
And he can fight in challenges (no, I bloody well would not like to accept that. I'm taking my power fist and going home. Sod the lot of you...hold on, I'm sure I had legs a second ago).

Loads of the usual toys for it to pick as well. And can have Malefic Ammo, which in this case grants all Heavy Bolters or Autocannon carried Rending. Wee bit pricey though...

Ion accelerator, Stim inject, fusion blaster , EWO
* Fire Warrior Team (54pts)
Fire Warrior Team (54pts)
* Pathfinder Team (110pts)

My question at this point is ; is markerlight support worth it or should take out the pathfinders for kroot or something else. Any advice is welcome and feel free to tear this list apart

Too many pathfinders. Riptides need markers but not that many since you don't have other units to benefit from it. I'd probably run a fireblade if you can afford it, tetras if forge world is allowed and maybe squeeze a solo broadside in there.

Hey a list:

Fireblade
6 firewarriors
10 kroot
riptide, Ion, skyfire, interceptor
4x pathfinders
broadside, interceptor

Some shaving could give you another kroot squad instead or FNP on the riptide.

And yeah rock on with a riptide at 500. :getin:

Tick through initiative. Since wounds can go into/out of challenges they need to be done at initiative step with the rest of the combat in case a challenger (or the challengers squad) gets punked out with swings left to spill into/out of said challenge.

Noone runs devs? Are you joking?

No one cares about 5 PA dudes standing in cover. They can be out deployed because they are a static element, will take a ton of turn one fire that is all over the place (battle cannons from knights, riptide ion guns, torrented down by wave serpents), don't help against the air game, can have morale problems then positioning problems unless you dedicate someone to baby sit them, has exactly one ablative wound so any loss is going to be painful, and are kind of expensive for what you get.

Ballin.

As you scale up you can add more solo broadsides (preferably missilesides) and tetras in addition to more riptides. Now that vehicles can score tetras are probably the best markerlights in the game. Not very threatening, super mobile for objective grabs and general maneuverability to reach out and touch things with markers while staying away from short ranged/CC threats.

I just wanted to talk about tetras I guess. :v:
