Surely I can't be the only person who thinks the Nexus 6 is just too big and too expensive? I'm eligible for an upgrade right now and I was kind of holding off to see what the 5's replacement would be, but now I'm thinking I'm just going to get a 5 instead.

It's a tablet, dammit. A 4.5 inch screen is probably right around the sweet spot for me. Anything more than that just doesn't fit very well in a pants pocket.

I helped pioneer giant phones with my stupid dorky Dell streak. That was 5" and it was to big. My Nexus 4 is about the limit, but all the small versions of flagship phones are poo poo.

They don't seem to be sticking to the ACPO 10%+2 guidelines anymore (I was on a speed awareness course the other week with somebody that got done for 77 in a 70 apparently) but I think you will be fine. Likely your speedo is overreading too, 2-5mph is normal at 70. Check it with a GPS next time you are out, your actually speed was more likely 72-73. I don't even bother switching cruise off at 75 indicated if it's a fixed camera.

So is the Nexus 6 only sold through carriers, or is Google going to sell it directly? I was hoping for the same thing as last year, buy a new Nexus 6 and a couple Nexus 5s when they clear them out (for a few days Google was selling new Nexus 4s for $199 after the 5 came out)

I was not expecting TISM chat in this thread. Maybe I'll dig out my Machiavelli and the Four Seasons album for the drive to work. Dealing with geriatric relatives sucks. First you are the power of attorney and you have to deal with hospitals. Then they get diagnosed with dementia and you have to deal with nursing homes. Then they have a heart attacks and you have to deal with both the nursing home and hospital. Eventually they have a blood infection and they are really sick. The police call and tell you that they had to kick in the door because a neighbour hasn't seen them, even though another police officer has found them for someone else but didn't log this correctly. Then your relative doesn't respond to the antibiotics and passes away. Oh look who is here? Vultures looking for a pay day. Their body is still warm and all the vultures are doing is rubbing their hands in anticipation. Then you have to deal with a funeral director and all you can think is, "Wow, this is much easier than dealing with all that bull poo poo." I feel like I should be more sad, but I saw this woman deteriorate from August up until she passed on Monday and all I can think about is how it is better this way because the more it went on the less she was herself at least she died with some dignity knowing who she was and who I was. Sorry for the wall of text. Next time it will be bowels and troubled relationships I promise.

None of my vehicles have a functioning radio, but the times I've borrowed a car with one I turn it on sometimes, eventually get bored or mad at talk radio, then turn it back off.

My mom, who is 73 and not in great health, may have to have some of her intestine taken out. Last few years have not been kind to her: three back surgeries, a couple of other hospital stays, and a pretty bad case of diverticulitis. Plus she's a two pack a day smoker. Osteoporosis, and a slew of other stuff. She's basically confined to a chair and can't do more than about 5 minutes of anything besides read, surf the web, or yell at the TV while watching fox news. There are nights I really wish she would die peacefully in her sleep. Taking care of her has really aged my dad, who has always been in great shape. And they are 350 miles away from me. She's too good a person to deal with this.
