Sending in the military just to build shelters makes no loving sense to me, sending in random comm weenies instead of Seabees and ACE makes less sense, and talking about pulling up Selres / IRR makes even less sense than that. At least no one's mentioning stop loss yet. And I'm not saying that in some tinfoil way, I fully believe anyone sent there is basic labor to put up tents, it's just the whole 'out of everything Obama could throw our severely depleted military at, he chooses this' aspect of it

Currently doodoo disease is publicly killing close to as many Americans as ISIS, and dealing will not (hopefully) be as expensive.

When was the last time they even grabbed people from IRR? Iraq 2003? Hell I think I'd be down to show up to those optional formations or whatever and get some extra cash.

I don't think they pulled anyone off IRR other than some guard nobles. I believe it was just stop loss and upping the recruiting quota. But I could be wrong.

Africa has plenty of airports, right? They won't need to send any guard units who specialize in setting up mobile air traffic control towers and navigation equipment, turning strips of dirt into controlled airfields, right? Right? gently caress.

I've seen a good amount of IRR recalls because apparently that was one of the limited ways to get people to go to Iraq. lol for once I can be happy that I was a dumb gently caress ground pounder whose skills will never be needed for this kind of a recall. RIP support gippers. Be sure to make a cool rear end AP photo when blood is seeping from your eyes. Also I've been out of irr for a hot minute so idgaf anyway.

Tell me that dude pissed hot for everything in the book at MEPS when they recalled him. Because I would have rolled up in the van from Fast Time at Ridgemont High trying to come down from a 3 day coke binge. Or just Layne Staley'ed my way out of IRR. RIP man. Just got back from seeing Fury. That movie was intense and it certainly doesn't pull any punches. I figured that out when very early in the movie a tank gets hit by a Panzerfaust and the tank commander climbs out screaming and on fire and runs around for a bit before shooting himself in the head.
