It's actually kind of hard to say what elements you can pick and choose from Homestuck and still call the game a Homestuck game. Does it have to include Sburb to be Homestuck? Does it have to include trolls? Does it have to involve kids, guardians, chat logs, quirks, wacky inventories, adventure game trappings and narration? So here is a question: When Hussie posted the update, within about 5 minutes, the site went down because of everyone trying to access it, right? As soon as he undoes the update, the site goes back to being fully accessible. But the thing is, wouldn't there still be a lot of drag and downtime, or at least delay, because people don't automatically know the update is gone, and people are still trying to access the site. Maybe not quite as many, as they realize that it is down, but I think it would still take some time to return to full normality. Also like the trolls they collected their reproductive fluids in buckets but they gave the buckets to Alpha 5 instead of a drone.

I'm happy to start with more of Caliborn's fuckery since he's some part of the comic's main antagonist, so we should probably get to know and hate him a little more before the comic reaches the climax. It's funny that the main way he's antagonized John has nothing to do with the massive, cosmic bullshit he's been involved in but rather by being a lovely teenager with a lovely comic.

You know, when I heard Homestuck was coming off of its gigapause, I thought about Homestuck for the first time in like a year and realized... I had no idea why I liked it. Yeah, it had some neat characters, but my memories of it were of unironically enjoying it when it disappeared up its own rear end with its metaphysics and poo poo. Like the reveal that the trolls created our universe and Homestuck was a creation myth. I remember being really excited about that at the time, but now... it's just so...  I thought I might finally be free of Homestuck. I clearly had lost interest, and that was okay. I was going to go on to be a normal productive member of society. But, you know, I had to read the first update at least. Just 'cause it was there. And just like that, a single lovely rehashed page, it all came flooding back to me. It was perfect. That solitary page was the only update that could live up to the hype of a whole year's gigapause. No grand epic flash animation or little walkabout game could have come anywhere close. "Sometimes you pause your famous webcomic for a year, and then your grand reopening is a lot of bad anime." He just slapped a "more" above the title. It's still "Vol. 1" I'm never going to be free. Hussie has my heart, and I'm never getting it back.
