The words "game mode" appear verbatim in the post, great suggestions people. The game pad has one frame of lag. It sounds like your tv is kinda lovely. There probably isn't much you can do about it that you haven't already tried. Maybe your tv has a firmware update (is that even a thing)?

I don't think Sonic game soundtracks have yet managed to match the majesty of Live & Learn. Except maybe when Crush 40 did a remix of Sonic Boom for the Sonic CD soundtrack release. I think that's my number 1 favorite Sonic song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCJz33hKDR0

Thanks for the suggestions, people!  I'll futz around with the TV display options again, check to see if there's an update for it, all that neat stuff. I certainly hope my lag issues aren't due to my TV being a piece of crap. It's barely a year and a half old! It would be just like me to spend money on a brand new piece of crap.  Thanks for keeping it real, pokeyman. Sometimes a guy just needs to hear it how it is.

If your TV is that new then you will probably be able to fix this through the settings. If you cannot figure that out then do some Google searches that are specific to your TV model and game lag.

For my money the most worthless Sonic game is Sonic 4 because it's literally the only Sonic game that has a lovely soundtrack. Sure 06 might be a much worse fame but 4 was still pretty bad and 06 at least had a good soundtrack.

Look for any sort of smoothing or motion enhancement options and turn those off. There may also be specific audio settings that could be slowing down your TV, so give that menu a glance.

Me and my girlfriend bought a wii U to play mario kart and have an outlet to verbally abuse each other, nintendo, our dog or anything we percieve to be 'making us lose' and its been GREAT. However, what I've wanted to do since I had my nintendo 64 back in....99 or so is play Ocarina of Time again. Is there a way to do so on the U?

But to play it you'll need a Wii Remote and a Classic Controller (the one that plugs into the Wii Remote, not the Wii U Pro Controller or whatever). I was lucky and found a black Classic Controller Pro at a pawn shop for like $4, Your Results May Vary. Also, the Wii VC selection is much larger than the Wii U VC selection, and with the speed at which Wii U VC games are being released, it's not a bad idea to invest in the Wii's library if you wanna also play like Super Mario RPG or Castlevania: Rondo of Blood or something.

I'd say the lag is more noticeable on VC games, but I've long suspected I've had lag issues on my other game consoles as well.

This should come with a VERY VERY big disclaimer. To play this, you have to have a Wii remote and Classic Controller. They do not make the classic controller anymore, so you need to buy it used and it will be quite expensive.

Is Sonic Colors any good? I opened up my old games cabinet at my parent's place two weeks ago and was shocked to discover that I somehow own it. I quite liked Sonic Generations, for what its worth.

Generations is really good and All-Star Racing easily rivals Mario Kart 8 as best kart racer to date. Sonic games can be good when they really want to but apparently they just don't want to. I think they're just too lazy to apply themselves.

Most Sonic games try really hard but often they either can't pull of their ideas or have ideas that are terrible in the first place. 06 for example was just loaded with content. It really just had too much in it for any team to sanely handle and pull off. I mean the game had three main characters with their own storylines. Each of those characters controlled differently and had their own mechanics. In addition to those characters, pretty much every other character from the series appeared in some form or another as playable and all of them also played differently and had their own mechanics. They also had multiple huge hub worlds, like over a hundred optional side quests, a multiplayer mode and so on and so on and so on. The problem is, of course, they literally failed to pull off every single one of these things. It was a terrible game but I don't think they didn't try, they just didn't know what the gently caress they were doing.

Everything was hacked together, barely functional, and trying to pick it apart could drive you mad. Nintendo 64 emulators are essentially a pile of special exceptions for what to do with each game.

So Nintendo posted a job opening for a lead graphics engineer for their next console. https://nintendo.taleo.net/careersection/10000/jobdetail.ftl?job=140000005E&src=SNS-10380 Most likely this is something we won't be seeing for at least 5 years, so it hardly spells doom for the Wii U's lifespan. That said, I am happy to know that Nintendo still intends to release more consoles after the Wii U. Unless this is related to a 3DS successor, of course.

I found Generations to be really boring, but All-Star Racing Transformed is exceptional. I honestly think the best Sonic game in years is that endless runner for iPads, it's a lot of fun and I would genuinely buy a non-f2p version on a console, especially the WiiU

This is the same company that re-released Metroid and the NES version of Pac-Man for the GBA when both games were available included with other games at the same price or cheaper, and in Pac-Man's a case more accurate to the arcade version.

Anyway, my SO has one of the large 3ds handhelds, would Ocarina of Time and the older Pokemon games I see are available for that be any good, or are they the same mess of barely held together emulated games?
