News is that Skullgirls on PS4 will support PS3 sticks, but not PS360+ or other custom boards.

I'm probably missing something obvious but how is a PS360+ in PS3 mode any different from any other PS3 stick?

Gwyrgyn Blood posted:I'm probably missing something obvious but how is a PS360+ in PS3 mode any different from any other PS3 stick? - "Any stick that reads as a Generic USB GamePad or Joystick will work," Bartholow said in an email to Polygon. "This covers MadCatz TEs, which are the majority of what the fighting game community uses right now, as well as many other smaller brands and custom options such as the GodLike Controls' Cthulhu boards. - Bartholow says any device that identifies itself as a DualShock 3, instead of something more generic, won't work with its driver. The popular PS360+ board and Inpin PS2 to PS3 adapter will not work for this reason, Bartholow says.

It sucks that it can't be used with the PS360+ since that is what I use in both my sticks, but it's cool that they got this working. Guess I need to save up for a TE2 or something.

Huh weird. I wonder if it's possible for them to add a mode for that in the firmware? I actually thought there was already a 'generic USB' mode you could select by holding a button with those boards.

I know the thread for MK9 was a pretty good one, so I was wondering if some enterprising goon had started one. I did the MK9 thread, I might do one for MKX but I haven't really been paying a whole lot of attention to that game so it won't be for a little while yet.

MKX is a goodly while off yet. There just isn't much out there except for people going crazy on speculating what character is/is not in the game, not much to base a thread off of just yet.

Drowning Rabbit posted:Anyone know if this would include the older Toodles board? It should in theory since that one identifies as a generic USB controller. To test it just jam it into your PC and see what you get identified as. It sucks that the newer boards and the Inpin won't work. The generic blue PS2->PS3 will work but the build quality on those means they vary a bit and can have some lag, I have two and one of them is lagless while the other one vary sometimes but I think it's because the soldering on the internal board is really poor.

uncleKitchener posted:Future PS360+ updates may end up supporting the PS4. I doubt it, they'd have to release a new board with bluetooth (like the hori hrap http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/189004/hori-hrap-v4-announced-compatible-with-ps3-and-ps4/p3) and the latest revised board (which brings down the xbox 360 input delay) doesn't have bluetooth as far as I know.

uncleKitchener posted:Future PS360+ updates may end up supporting the PS4. The newest update supports it now, but only for 8 mins at a time. The board fails the bluetooth checkin and disconnects the controller. It would require a bluetooth module to fix it.

So long as we're talking about the PS360+, what's the version that has a one frame delay on 360? I'm having a lot of trouble getting that result in Google for some reason.

I haven't noticed it at all, honestly, and would still recommend one- I have 2 of the old version in my stick

I thought Cammy liked cats. Of course, she does already have a cat costume. And Ryu not being a dragon is weird as his name is literally dragon. How much you want to bet that Gief won't be a bear and Balrog won't be a buffalo just to gently caress with people

Balrog will be an ape of some kind and then everybody will be really uncomfortable

So Akishop (the guys that make the PS360+ board) have been posting on SRK, and were asked:quote:Would it be possible to update the PS360+ via firmware to identify itself as a Generic USB Controller instead of a DualShock 3 to get it to work with Lab Zero's driver for PS3 controllers on the PS4? quote:I am sure it will work with a small firmware update, should be nothing special. As soon as we are able to test the game we can work on a solution. So that's a good sign, at least.

How many hitbox users do we have in here? I am really considering one now, but I am kinda concerned about adapting to do motions with buttons. My left hand is my weaker one by a lot and and I don't know how well it will take to adapting to the change. I switched to an oversized actuator with a tight spring in my JLF a few months ago and it never loosened up a little like I expected it to, and my execution has gone to poo poo as a result of it. I've tried using other peoples sticks and they feel way too lose which makes it even worse. I might get a new stick and try that first but I am really tempted by the hitbox
