I can't even read it without giggling. I like the fact that we spent the past day or so making fun of rogues' names on the show and then they flat out had them say on screen how stupid 'leonard snart' sounds.

I hope that when the Trickster shows up he either names himself and/or the episode has a cameo by Mark Hamill

VBane posted:I have to say I loved in the 2nd episode when Cisco at first called Multiplex "Captain Clone", it explains away why Flash has two big rogues named Captain, cause the same guy keeps naming the rogues and has a thing about the word Captain :p. I'd like to think that when Digger hears the Captain Cold name, he goes, "Well, if you get to be a captain then I get to be a captain!" Also, severely disappointed by the lack of Paul Gambi in this episode. I'm just going to pretend there was a scene where Snart picks up his parka at Gambi's shop that they filmed and had to cut for time.

Its much an 'awe' kind of theme, where you're meant to pause, realise something incredibly is about to happen, and then be amazed. Which so far, thanks to the effects work on this show, its mostly delivered on. But I love the train sequence especially because its the exact kind of moment that sadly is lacking in some superhero adaptations - actually saving people, instead of just fighting the bad guys. Or as the Flash rule goes: Nobody dies. (except for the one poor dude but that just adds to why Barry doesn't wanna let it happen)

I love that this show is embracing it's comic book nature rather than trying to down play it. This episode was a lot of fun. I kind of wish Felicity could jump shows because I like her and Barry together a lot more than I like Oliver and Felicity or Barry and Iris.

Flash saving a lot of people at high speed is one of my favorite things he does, so it was pretty awesome to watch that. Also that lightning effect in his eyes. They are doing an awesome job of building up the myths. And since a treadmill is in the show, it will totally become cosmic eventually, won't it?

Also can I say I loved how Felicity immediately jumped to 'wtf is he gonna age faster going fast' because that is the first thing I would ask in the same situation.

Thinking about it, we know he travels through time at least once, since the red/yellow tornado in his house was pretty obviously him and the reverse Flash batteling over his mother. I am also thinking whether or not they would do Flash of Two Worlds. Barry thinks of himself as the Flash already, maybe it is a name he got from an old comic book.

There is nothing like a good, established hero music cue, or even song. Superman is a great example. Hell, much as Bleach turned to dreck, I can't hear Number 1 start to play without getting hype.

Music when used well, just adds so much more to a scene.

Haven't watched the latest episode yet but Captain Cold and the Rogues is encouraging, at least as a comic book nerd. My girlfriend and I love Arrow but we've been struggling with this show. It's a little too predictable with supervillain of the week + pep talk for Barry + slight reveal of Wells' story. Plus I was groaning through Caitlin's boyfriend's flashback. I just plain didn't care, and that dialogue was excruciating. "What about Italy? Pizza... and wine... and pizza!" Who the gently caress plans a romantic vacation to Italy to eat pizza? What are you, a nuclear physicist or a ninja turtle? And as an actual PhD student working on his dissertation it never ceases to amuse me that Iris has all the time to do everything in the world but work on hers.

I have been pretty forgiving of that since it is only the 4th episode and it is still finding its footing and establishing things. The first episode/pilot needed to be used to introduce the characters and set the plots in motion, then we had 2 episodes to kind of get a rhythm going, now this latest one has established a long term villain arc (at the very least). I am hoping for some more progression of the meta-plot outside of stingers, but I have no complaints about what is effectively the first third of the premiere season.
