There was a Voyager ep where the ship got duplicated and Harry dies. So the Harry who came home with Voyager is actually a quantum duplicate. I think that's the corpse of the real Harry whop got dumped into space IIRC. I think he even has a Voyger era uniform on in the cutscene. There's nothing more after that though so we need to wait for new content to find out for sure though. The body is really well preserved though and it begs the question of why the Kobali are just sitting on it if they're so hard up for corpses.

This except

The Voyager that survived was the quantum Duplicate, Harry Kim and Naomi Wildman are the only non quantum duplicate people on that ship. Well them and Seven since she wasn't on board at the time. Quantum dupe harry is the one in the tube. Unless the writers of STO miss that detail, in which case, they remember Voyager less than I do, so good on them.

This is true but it's only implied by the episode, never outright said. They'll probably miss that detail.

I recall this came up before. No, according to the episode and Memory Alpha, it was the duplicate Voyager that got blown up, and the original Kim that died.

Been a while since I've seen it and I'm falling into the sperg trap here, but I remember it differently.

Quantum duplication happens, all matter gets duplicated, but not antimatter, dupe ship goes into a meltdown because poo poo ain't right, dupe Harry gets blown into space, dupe Naomi dies still born.

Real voyager sees this helps out but uh oh, here come some vidians on long range sensors. They can't see dupe voyager because technobabble. Real voyager is getting hosed up, transfers antimatter to dupe voyager along with Original Harry and Naomi.

Original voyager gets curb stomped duplicate voyager gets the gently caress out. It's never explicitly said that dupe voyager is the one that survives, but it's never said it isn't either.

Dupe Voyager is my favorite Voyager plot hole as its probably one of the grimmer things from the TV shows.

What are torps, what are good torps, and when should I use torps? About all I know is use torpedos on escort like ships but I see some people either do all beams or beams plus one torp on some beamboats. Also that any torpedos that generate an actual, target able torpedo are crap.

Technical Analysis

Torps are your "finisher" unless you're doing a gimmick torp boat.

Drop shields with an energy weapon poo poo a torp onto bare hull.

In a beam boat you don't use them due to firing arcs (excepting the wide arc Torps)

In practice you mostly use them on escorts, combine them with torp spread or high yield if you have the space for it, and drop even more damage into your target.

Newer rep Torps have procs on them that make them worth firing wether or not your targets shields are down.

And in PvE it really doesn't make a difference so #yolo #fireeverything.

Dyson Grav torp is probably king atm. Since it procs a small grav well. Bio Torp from Undine is nice if you have the set. I like the anti-Doomsday Machine torp if I don't have a torp ability. There is a 180 degree arc torp, but you need to get a lockbox ship to get it. Rom torp and Omega Torp are decent. Generally, Quantum and photon are okay-ish. Tri-cobalt isn't bad for ships that don't constantly face an enemy, even with the destructible high yield ability. Cluster torps are pretty.

quote:

and when should I use torps?
Escorts are good to have a torp since they are facing the target. Also good on ships that have energy issues, like undergeared cruisers that are doing FAW. They are also great for Crystaline Entity since it doesn't have shields and the kinetic damage can make you 1st everytime if you aren't a shitheel. Torp spread 3 is pretty.

They aren't that important these days. Power creep has limited their necessity. And since people are doing more than Borg stf's (well at least they should if crytic hadn't f'ed things up) there are a lot more enemies with shielding.

There's nothing more satisfying than trapping a cluster of enemies in a grav well, then watching the ships start spinning when your gravimetric spread turns gravity insideout.

Three, actually. The quantum torpedo is from the c-store Regent/Sovereign retrofit. The wide-angle voth chroniton is from the Bulwark. And the rapid-fire missile launcher is from the lobi store.

Yeah, if you're going to go for a standard torp right now (i;e not wide-angle or cluster) get the Delta rep torp. It hits like a truck, is AoE, isn't targetable, drains power, and kills power regen rates. It's great.

Normally, yes, but then the last big season release didn't require a retarded amount of XP grinding just to get to the next story mission.

As someone who just leveled to 58, gently caress cryptic. One patrol episode, and the next level I get one story episode? Already finished the Kobali stuff, so it would just be running me around the map again doing the same stuff. For really little XP, gently caress That.

It would be different if people actually played the STFs, but as it is when I logged in last night... 20 people playing CCE and 10 playing ISE everything else was barren. Way to gently caress up a fun game.

There are two things that say that it's real Voyager that blows up. 1) The vidiians see and interact with it. 2) it's a few seconds ahead of the other Voyager, as it starts doing its technobabble pulses first before they're aware of each other, which fucks up other Voyager.

This is only missing text as Delta Marks are a choice once the pack is opened.
The Mirror Invasion event Ad incorrectly states the event is limited to level 50 characters and lists a special Duty Officer as a reward.
This event is for level 50 – 60 Captains.
The special reward is the Zefram Cochrane Shotgun.
