They are totally gonna fuse, the big question will be who will be in control of the fusion. I am kinda believing Demon King Piccolo might be the one, since he seems to have a logic to fuse with Kami.

They made it clear that fusing was consensual, and permanently fusing with Piccolo seems so against Gast's motivations that it makes no sense at all outside of fanfiction hand waving. Something is going to come from Gast's earlier attempt to 'convert' Piccolo. What exactly is anyone's guess. There's still a good bit of chapter to go judging by the length of the others. Seems more like a fire truck: Piccolo's got the cab but Kami's got the ladder. Don't know if he could absorb Gast without his personality changing drastically.

The team spends an episode chasing Cell and keep missing him. After the scene in the short, they reconvene at Master Roshi's and the Cyborgs show up looking for Goku. They cut out a lot of material that they would have cut out anyway.
