Haha-h...

You don't even have to get people to sign in via google, public news articles doesn't even require you to log in, they just grab your FB login cookie and make you comment whatever you like. People still have no filter. Even if that person is trolling in public, the fact that 17 people liked it is just scary.

I'm 24 and I go out to eat with my aunt who is in her late 50's on most sunday mornings along with her friends. There's usually about half a dozen to a dozen people there, all 50+ and they are bigger goddamn children than most children are. Hell, one of them has to constantly be reminded by his wife to use his indoor voice and not make racist jokes basically :v:

So my school is using what I consider actually a really decent forums called Piazza. I honestly enjoy it for the most part, the email updates are a bit annoying but you can turn them off for the most part.

For class discussions it works really well, but one problem I have is there isn't an ignore and the professor doesn't do anything about this one assinine student who keeps posting stupid class.

His latest thing he posted in the general discussion forum was an MRA article that really is just like the last straw for me.

He titled it "10 Red Flags When Meeting Girls".
I literally can't make this poo poo up but he was defending the article and saying all the girl's he has met with tattoos are definitely crazy and broken.

Like this poo poo is not appropriate for school boards or general social media. I absolutely hate life hack posts and this is like some severe bastardized warping of it.

You're an adult now HOW do you agree with this poo poo or feel its appropriate to post this poo poo on class forums with other students. Holy crap. MRA life hack tips on student forums is what my life has become. Getting the occasional bump update in my email for this crap is not appropriate.

Should I talk to the professor about this guy? It is possible he just hasn't noticed the kid's posts? No one has commented on any of his posts and this is like his third one.

Only 27% of parliamentary positions are held by women, meaning that in spite of their greater leisure, women in the Philippines neglect their duty to public service.

80% more women than men have a bank account, which probably tells us that in spite of the fact that men choose to work and earn more, they have little comparative control over how their money is spent. Women choose to earn less, but spend more than men.

Men are overwhelmingly more likely to suffer from cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, respiratory diseases, and even malaria and tuberculosis. Men in the Philippines die, on average, six years before women. How anyone could say a living woman is nearly equal to a dead man is beyond comprehension. The man is dead. The woman has ALL of the power and privilege.

It is absurd to look at this data and say, "Women have it nearly as good as men." Women are far better off by every metric. That's gender inequality, and it runs in the opposite direction than people who have posted here seem to think. The Philippines is not approaching equality. It is a very sexist culture. Men are the victims, and women are the powerful and privileged.

My Facebook feed is decidedly unremarkable, but I do have one ultra-libertarian guy on it I used to be friends with as a kid who's gone full Teapartier or whatever and some of the stuff he posts makes me want to scream sometimes.

He isn't even American. He's Canadian. And lives in Canada.

Oh well. At least people are willing to call him out on it.

I also don't have anything against hunting, but what the gently caress is courageous about it. It's really boring, you shoot the animal, you eat it. Nothing really that dangerous unless you're hunting a loving bear or something. Or bow hunting, but those people are crazy in another way.
