Found on a list of the best tattoos of 2014 or whatever. These two stuck out. That's just loving gross. The knuckle fold eye-lids are fun. That's a top-shelf pairing right there.

REAL MUSCLE MILK posted:do you know what dreamcatchers are What appears to be a poorly drawn willow hoop/net decorated with feathers. Nope, definitely couldn't be taken for a dream-catcher thing. Taste is subjective and I see none in that tattoo nor its placement. It's also asymmetrical and the line work is pretty weak. The negative space and closing loving suck too. Blah blah, white chick (probably) and cultural appropriation blah blah. You must have some real treasures on your bloated body to be angrily defending garbage like that. Now, tell me how beautiful this one is

It has a big gently caress-off cut gem on it and a fleur-de-lis. And even if it didn't, with the shape there's no way it could even be a section of a dreamcatcher. It looks more like a generic old-fashioned decoration and is pretty okay. Not sure why you're so mad about it.

This. Another example is my own back tattoo. If you look at it dead on, it looks crooked - but thats because people normally focus on landmarks like the spine (or her boobs) instead of, you know, the whole body. In my case, my spine is hosed and does not run down the centre of my back - so its looks definitely "off".

I'm surprised nobody has noticed that the mermaid legs tattoo is completely ripped off from Elayne Angel, a famous body piercer who got it over 20 years ago. http://i.imgur.com/wXAfEop.jpg :nsfw: just to be safe When you compare both versions side-by-side, the new one looks like crap. It's also tasteless because it's a blatant rip-off. DeKalb has a new favorite as of 16:52 on Nov 3, 2014 |

Right, and I'm sure you'll also say every set of wings is a complete ripoff of the first person that ever had them done. I'll meet you halfway and say 'inspired by', but the one originally posted is different enough that I'd say it can't really be called a ripoff. Side question, what happens to large sleeves if the person tans? How physically deep in the skin even is the change of skin color? Do certain inks/colors basically have UV blocking properties that would make any change of color blotchy rather than uniform?

It doesnt have any UV protective properties. Infact a lot of the inks break down and turn blotchy as gently caress with UV exposure so tattoos should really be kept out of direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time.
