The Third Set to End all Third Sets!

Remember the other great third sets, like the last third set with Dragon in its name and no dragons? The last third set featuring a tribe that appeals to casual players? What about the last time a third set was about dragons and had a dragon's head for the set symbol?

That's some tough precedents to live up to!

No but really I hope the set is interesting.

I really like that the set symbol is the same outline as Khans, but it's a dragon head this time, that's a fun little touch.

Do you have to mention your hateboner for Modern's manabases literally every post you make? Do you shrivel up and die if you miss the opportunity?

Burn Pie: take a cherry pie and throw handfuls of it in your opponents face until they die.

8-Rack Pie: knock your opponent's pieces of pie out of their hand until they die.

Breakfast Burrito Pie: Throw your pie on the floor. A giant ooze dinosaur pops out and shoots your opponent in the face.

sadly unfunny

Dredge Pie: While staring your opponent in the eye, take heaping forkfuls of your pie and fling them at the floor. Then trade some of the bits that fell on the table for the knife you hid in the pie, and stab your opponent in the kidney.

I dunno, why don't you ask one of my posts on a different subject? I recommend starting with the reserve list collection; that's always a favorite. :v:

edit: I just checked and as far as I can tell, those two posts are literally the only ones in which I address the concept of manabases in this iteration of the thread, so I sincerely am not sure what you are on about, dude.

5 copies of it were played in the GP Stockholm finals. 3 in the Temur deck and 2 in the Jeskai. It's also becoming a standard in the G/R devotion decks.

It's pretty popular right now in Standard, honestly.

I don't understand how people can say anything other than "Ashcloud Phoenix is a good card" right now.

There's all of one significant threat to it's existence and that's getting exiled without the use of an enchantment

What exiles in this standard besides Anger, Vault, and Magma Spray that can't be blown up?

Also, it blocks Stormbreath Dragon and it hard to validate using two spells on to be rid of it.

It's no Siege Rhino and, sure, anything that exiles upon killing it like Magma Spray will make you have a bad time, but 4 power for 4 mana with evasion, with the potential to edge the opponent out in grindy matches? The card is legit.

Show and tell pie, keep knocking their fork out of their hands when they try to take a bite then hit them in the face with a sledgehammer you have hidden under the table.

Doomsday pie, take a fork full of pie, throw the rest away. Try desperately to figure out a way to kill the opponent with your fork

High tides pie, keep stacking pieces of your own pie on top of each other and tell your opponent to shut up you're almost done, then smash them in the face with their own piece of pie.

Battle of Wits pie: This pie is the size of the entire table. The opponent has no room to eat.
