I had a coworker say that the producers of the "10 hours in NY" video edited out all the white guys who catcalled/harassed them. I assume with the insinuation that they were being racist. EDIT: canyoneer posted:Here's an idiot on regular media. A guy mansplaining about how you uppity broads should lighten up, it's just a compliment! Wow, gently caress that guy. First thing out of his mouth (other than "nice" when the other commentator says she lives through that everyday) is the tired line of "you wouldn't care if they were hot". The only response to that is that is "You'd have put a stop to this if every day you had Bears spitting "Yo I'm gonna gently caress you" at you every day." Is that in the South? My 8th grade English teacher gave me the book The Case for Christ because I mentioned being atheist in an essay. Still not 100% sure that was legal. Most English teachers are liberal nerds, but sometimes you get math department rejects and it just doesn't end well. Also, kinksters are literally the worst people in the entire world.

^^Nah dude, South of the Mason-Dixon is pretty much solidly the south. But then you showed me anyway. Moving on... loving REALLY!? He won't even concede the point that daily harassment on the street is so bad that women can't even speak out against it for fear of being attacked? He's really going to Why is this always the answer? Why, when asked to teach people not to rape, is the answer "stop being a whore"? And so on and so forth. I'm also going to branch that out to basically any social issue that doesn't focus on white, wealthy, males. The answer is never "try to change the terrible situation" but "deal with it in a way that doesn't involve me"? I know it's privilege ultimately, but there just seems to be something so pathetic about that. (sorry this got me started so I'm going to rant about some non social media idiots in my family) gently caress, it's even little things. This weekend my Cousin (Dad's side) dressed their 1-2ish year old son as an old man and gave him a fake walker to use to walk around for Halloween. Now my brother was born with club feet and used a walker for much of his young life. My mother (a loving saint) was a little off put by it but said nothing at first. My cousin then offhandedly said something to the effect of "Haha, he's doing better than [brother] was".* My mother finally said basically that what she had said was fairly offensive. The response? "Well that's your problem." My Mother's problem. My Mother didn't tell her to drive home and change the kid. She didn't demand a cash repayment for her trouble. She didn't do anything but tell my Cousin, who was clearly oblivious to the situation, that what she had said was offensive. The only thing needed was a simple apology. But no. "That's your problem". And yes she's conservative as all gently caress and would have a threesome with Reagan's dessicated corpse with her Husband if she could. Well time for beer. *[For notice my brother learned to walk around age 4-5 to varying degrees of success because he'd be in full leg casts for up to 6 months at a time and that had been the case since he was 12 minutes old and ended up continuing until he got to about 8th grade.] Crain has a new favorite as of 05:13 on Nov 4, 2014 |

A friend of mine posted the following on facebook today: "While I haven't been able to keep from posting football stuff, I *have* been successful in cutting down dramatically on the number of political posts. Today is election day though. I sincerely urge everyone to actually read facts, and more importantly the ***PROS*** of each candidate, before going out to vote. READ the facts, by the way, don't let a deluge of completely skewed commercials warp reality for you. The majority of media is under the control, influence, or pay of a certain political organization. Find the facts for yourself. Think for yourself. Don't let your friends pressure you into a mindset, and certainly don't let some outside organization with an agenda strong-arm you into a certain vote. This is America. We all originally came here to be free-thinkers, not whip-driven yes-men with no voice." While I admire the basic premise of the message, he just had to get in that dig at the media. He "likes" a lot of those crackpot tea party things as well, which is essentially the same thing as posting, just without having to worry about other people calling him an idiot for it. Pretty sad, he's a really nice guy in person.
