Wow, that devil beggar follower is amazing. Everything is a soul heart -> Get loads of devil rooms -> Don't care about having heart containers so take every item every time -> Turn into Guppy with loads of upgrades -> Murder every room including Mom's Heart in a couple of seconds

Welp just beat the Cathedral with Lazarus and I couldn't get into the Chest. I wonder what the requirement for it is now. Making the bosses more "bullet hell"y made Isaac a cake walk, he fires off poo poo tons of stuff but in like two or three patterns so once you figure out the safe spots you can just wail on him and watch out for the occasional regular tear shot from him. That is until the third phase where he actually moves around the room and poo poo

Just had a great combo, can't remember the exact items though: BFF and another item that makes spiders and flies more powerful, halo of flies, a white fly that appears when i get hurt, spiders that spawn when i hit enemies and a follower spider that spawns more spiders. Felt like some kind of bug necromancer.

I'm 2/3 wins so far, and I'd have gotten that first one too if I hadn't had some stupid item that kept warping me out of the boss room every time I took a hit.  God this game is fun.

Reinstalling the game didn't fix my "nothing saves" bug, and there's no information about it anywhere online. I am out of ideas aside from just waiting for the next patch.

So, the D10 rerolls enemies. Like, enemies in a room turn into random different enemies. It's neat. It also works on bosses.

So I had a wild ride that ended up with Guppy, Spelunker Boy, and Mama's Boy all being achieved. I got an early devil deal that had both brimstone and spirit of the night. Since I had enough hearts to not die, as well as some soul hearts, I took them both. On Caves 1, I got Curse of Darkness, and stumbled into some room that was labeled with a large die. I stepped into the middle of it and my character had some kind of seizure. A lot of my items got changed around, and I most notably lost both brimstone and spirit of the night. Despite that, I found it hard to care, because my damage had somehow become maxed and my tears stunned enemies. On Depths 1, I got my second round of devil deals, snagging The Pact, Guppy's Paw, and Nine Lives. I later got Guppy's Collar from a chest, completing the Guppy experience.  Mom's Heart died so incredibly fast, but it didn't give me the devil room to go to Sheol even though I got the Mama's Boy achievement on this run

I'm missing the charm of the old ending cinematics, the new ones look like they're drawn in paint. Also, I ran into a "randomize all your items" room, and it turned me into some kind of hellish lord of the flies demon that spawned a zillion friendly spiders and could charm enemies and bosses, it even charmed mom's heart so it did no damage to me.

I entered this room and suddenly every single item in my possession was shuffled and it triggered 'Lord of the Flies', making me ridiculously powerful with a Flight, spectral tears, chocolate milk, a full fly shield with a fat fly, the charm ability, and that item that makes your shots rotate around you + a bunch of pets. Tanooki to boot. End result was I couldn't see a drat thing as I'd fill the entire screen with shots in like, a second, and then the tanooki charge would trigger and I'd run around cleaning everything up that wasn't murderized by my 3 dozen spinning shots. I beat Satan's last form without getting hit just by flying around the room in circles and firing randomly.

Random observations: My game crashed the first time I got to The Womb, just after playing a Fortune Teller machine. Luckily it had autosaved when I entered the level. The worst enemy is the map in the corner of the screen. I've taken so much dumb damage just from not seeing one hidden there. Everything feels more floaty compared to the original game. It's not necessarily a bad thing, just a reason why it's taken some getting used to and I'm taking stupid damage. The new Brimstone sound sucks and I hope they patch it out. It's like knives in my ears. Another new sound I hate is the sounds it makes when you kill an enemy. Give me back the splort noise; the noises now don't have the same satisfaction.

Hah, I came here specifically to ask what the hell the Lord of the Flies thing did. I got it right after the randomizer room as well. In my case I don't think it gave charm (stuff died quickly so I dunno, maybe it did and I just didn't see it). I already had flying, but it gave me 2 flies. One was the big one that orbits you and one was the black fly that explodes on enemies and covers the map in haze. I also started seeing loads of items on the ground in rooms I'd already explored. Chests and trinkets in the corners, one time 2 eternal hearts in the empty starting room. Weird. Azazel is incredibly powerful. Like Blue Baby but even better somehow. Although don't be dumb like me and take Soy Milk with his mini-Brimstone-- apparently it makes it so Brimstone does almost 0 damage. It took me 2 full charges to even kill basic flies. You can spam Brimstone without charge, but it appears to do almost no damage whatsoever. This game is really great so far. I really like how well it runs compared to the flash nightmare that was the original.

Man, I could never get into the original version of this game because of the controls but playing on the Vita is so much better. I only played a few times before quitting originally, but in Rebirth I unlocked the womb on my third try.

Randomizer room owns. I'd run through Mom and the Boss Rush (which is hype as gently caress, holy poo poo I love it), with Money=Power and the Swallowed Penny (which combined to crank me up to 99 from like 20 over the course of the boss rush), Cricket's Body, Scorpio, and that one thing that gives you super shots at close range. I take some damage going through a big room, and see what I think is another casino on my minimap. Wander in to get some health, get metamorphosed into this monstrosity: Not Pictured: Daddy Longlegs, a MILLION loving spiders. Seriously, Mom's heart didn't get to do much because it was too busy being swamped by the Great Spider Horde.

So bit of a warning. It used to be that if you were flying, you couldn't use Keys on any Locks on the ground because you'd be wasting them. Turns out this game removed that for some reason and you're fully capable of using keys on locks for no reason, so careful with that.

Just got the super boss run room and loving crushed it. Max damage + max fire rate + the thing that splits your tears up, and one of the 4 options in the boss room was Poly. Don't think any boss lasted more than like 10 seconds. Game owns.

Just started playing, its everything I wanted and more. Still getting used to it though, kinda like going from classic Spelunky to HD, albeit not as much of a difference in gameplay. I did just kill a rainbow colored poop in a big room though, and an image of a rainbow popped up briefly, but I didnt notice anything else. What's up with that?

I have done a couple Sanson runs, and he's actually good now! Rage builds up slower than before, but it resets only when you change floor and appears to have no upper ceiling. He eats bosses like there's no tomorrow, shame I died to stupid things.
