Watching that really brings home how drones and cheap/light HD cameras have completely changed the video landscape and made very high quality within reach on a fairly small budget.

He could be wearing some sort of insertable form of protection, but I wouldn't hold my breath. You'd be surprised by the don'tgiveafuck attitude a lot of people have when it comes to hearing protection used in loud work environments.

My coworker is a 25 year wrenching veteran and pounds away with an air hammer at just about anything with no protection and will regularly weld with nothing over his eyes. "You use the welder head to cover the arc" he claims. Occasionally stopping to beam himself in the eyes with a 500 lumen flashlight. For extra long jobs he will put on a pair of cheap torch glasses. Anything to do with a torch or cutter wheel/grinder gets done with no protection. "gently caress all that poo poo, Im old school" Cant really argue.

On the one hand, yeah, those are some crazy cars, but on the other hand, why do this on public roads? Do they not have drag strips? It's not like they're racing for a long distance, and those are proper drag cars, not street cars. The only way this makes sense is if they don't have drag strips. Edit: So per the post below, the answer is, no. They don't have a legal way to do this, because drag racing isn't "green" enough. Banning racing and then having laws that make it really easy and risk-free to run from the cops is probably not the best combination of ideas. I posted an article with another video earlier that had some background (page 3): http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/10/street-racing-stockholm-welcome-underground/#chapter-the-what-the-why-the-how Basically, in the 90s the went legit until the government didn't want them around anymore. I guess since then they gave up on trying to be legal. It's probably a poor excuse that they could work around if they really wanted to though.

Cat Terrist posted:gently caress the entire lot of them. yeah seriously. Stockholm to Kjula is a 1 hour drive according to Google Maps. Since our track shut down the next closest 1/4 mile is a 3.5 hour drive and most of our drag racing community makes that trip regularly (hell we've dragged the Mustang up there a dozen times and we're probably the lowest-budget team in the club- okay the lowest-budget *successful* team ) so there's really no excuse.
