Yeah, it's hard to feel good about the idea of buying from Kingdom Death. I mean, I like some of their stuff a lot. The mini of the scarred and crazy-looking swordsman, or the chill archer nobleman with the sash that looks like faces, or that rad knight with the helmet that looks like an exposed brain -- they're ridiculously over the top and shamelessly anime but also just pretty drat cool and detailed. I would love to field the hosed-up shirtless madman in Pathfinder as a mini for an Urban/Savage Barbarian. It would be rad as hell. But it would feel super weird to financially support the company that sells the limited-edition breast covered vagina monster with included naked slave retinue.

No, I agree, from a horror perspective, it is a cool concept, just horrifyingly executed for all the wrong reasons. And that isn't how bones work. I mean, with a bit of greenstuff and some cutting, the model can be made to look really hosed up(in a good, horror movie way) and awesome, as opposed to a you need help, you sick, sick gently caress way.

As a rule, mixing sexual imagery with horror can be an effective technique to evoke a visceral response in your audience. HR Giger founded an empire on that. Slapping sexy animu babes all over stuff is not the same and these minis make me sad.

This reminds me that one time Gately did a video at Valhalla with the guy who created Dropzone Commander. They were playing a demo game and the most notable thing about it was Gately routinely commenting on the guy's English accent, to the point where the DZC guy started to get rather annoyed (he even said "It's OK, I don't mind if you mock me" at one point).
