Last I heard, he was convinced that Dirk/Gamzee was completely inevitable.

I know it's also somewhere in the bit after John sticks his arm in the doohicky on account of this, but I don't even remember where that whole section is (I wonder how much the random arms confuse new archive readers?) I stopped when Act 6 was released because I wasn't prepared to deal with 4 new loving characters at the time, and then when I came back I re-read Acts 1-5 after the Gigapause had started. I can tell you that I didn't even notice them at all.

I lost a lot of steam during the Mindfang Diaries and the Doc Scratch interlude pretty much killed it for me so I stopped reading for a long time and missed Cascade. I remember checking in like 5 months after I stopped and all I saw was a couple of pages of early Jane and Jake hijinks, which made me think "Oh my god is Hussie really doing some stupid flashback poo poo about Nanna and Grandpa gently caress this stupid comic" and proceeded to stop caring for like a year and a half or so. I forget exactly what drew me back in but it was pretty much the same month the Megapause started that I went and re-read the story and I noticed a couple of the arms, most notably the one next to the Homestuck logo. Plenty of 'em I just completely missed until John's Crazy Continuity Adventure. I guess not experiencing any of the Alpha kids until everything had been sorted out and the Beta kids finally arrived helps my opinion of them because I think they're all fine except Jake's outright stupidity gets a little tiring after awhile.

The giant candy corn, like the artifacting everywhere, is from when Caliborn shoved a bunch of stardust and candy corn in the Homestuck expansion cartridge.

In case you didn't realize it, Update! And... is Dirk dead? Did he just pixel himself to bits, or can he just float out of that fuzz. I guess this is his breaking point. That's fair, he's a hyper-driven sort of guy, it's not surprising the death of all his friends (as far as he knows) might finish him off. Well, I guess Roxy didn't go far after all. Hopefully John has more luck talking to her. No word on the state of Rose yet besides "probably dying", it'd probably be better for someone to finish her off in an unheroic way in hopes that it'll promote her revival.

Because I have so many great puns that relate to this situation! Dirkpressed, Stridown in the dumps, Prince of heartbroken...the list goes on and on! On a more serious note: Dirk is at his breaking point, but I think Rose is going to live. Or at least come back after dying. She wasn't doing anything heroic when she died, was she?

Edit: ^^^^ Hard to say. Characters like Dave and Jake died while trying to save someone and both of them didn't come back, while John's come back from getting shanked by Bec Noir. That she was attacking the Condesce out of revenge, not to save anyone, and got chumped for it probably means it isn't heroic.Action Shakespeare posted:i appreciate hussies approach to grieving characters as opposed to tumblrs "everyone goes into anime tears" approach You have no idea what may be going on behind his exceedingly anime shades.
