Yeah and Anders now has short hair and is dressing like a late 90's skater so I'm not sure if the band is having a midlife crisis or what but all I know is is it sucks

When they had a guest spot on Liquid Metal talking about the new album Anders was so far up his own rear end on how great things were and talking about beauty and how harsh things were too. It made me so mad. And im starting to see why everyone hates this station: it's pretty much the deathcore station with some pity plays of stuff during their Beyond the Pit (all death, thrash, black for a hour) and their retrospectives with Beyond the Pit w/ Ian Christie who plays stuff all over the place. I loving hate Jose Mangin, "SUP BROTHER METAL DUDE".

I saw In Flames at Gigantour in 2008 and they managed to be the worst band on a bill featuring Job For a Cowboy. In retrospect, JFaC is not as bad as their rep. They're just super boring. Not even that many pig squeals.

Haven't heard anything else from the new album yet, but unless that track is a fluke, it should be pretty solid.

Voivod is so out of place on that tour Also it's sort of funny when a deathcore band trend-jumps to being generic tech death and people start taking them seriously even though they're still making incredibly uncreative and redundant music.

Yeah, Voivod and Black Crown Initiate I can see, knowing that they play tech death (though I haven't actually listened to them). But Ringworm, Iron Reagan, Exhumed and then Voivod sandwiched between them and Napalm Death is loving out there.

I don't know if I should ask this in the recomendation thread or this one, but can you guys/gals give me some good female-fronted metal bands to listen to? I'm looking for more modern bands, since this site covers a lot of older stuff (and is more slanted towards heavy metal). Black, Thrash, whatevs, I'm game.

Little Scar Symmetry, some Amon Amarth, bit of Mastodon, new Carcass... and then it fades out and you hear him doing that stupid roar and going "OH YEAH METAL BROTHERS AND SISTERS ARE YOU READY TO GET YOUR SKULL BLOWN OUT THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD BY SOME MOTHERFUCKING SLIPKNOT? Mythic, Demonic Christ, Derkéta, Nuclear Death, Acrostichon are all female fronted as well. Nocturnal have had a female singer for a while too. There is, to be quite honest, almost a trend towards female vocalists in certain aspects of doom.

I'm part of MetalBlast.net; we are a completely fan-run website and we're looking for more writers or other people who might want to help us increase our size. Although it's unpaid (for every single one of us) there are some perks; since we work with the most important labels, so you'd have access to promos well before they're out, and can attend concerts and festivals for free and conduct interviews with bands. You'd be free to talk poo poo about any album you review, and nothing would be modified to please a label, artist, or anything. If anybody wants to participate, let me know here or over PM, and we see if it's possible to make it work.
