I actually adore the drone track, I think it's such a beautiful closer. These two albums compliment each other so well.

I have no idea how well known this band is and it may be closer to post punk or neither, there seem to be songs that vary quite a bit.. Most of the songs are pretty short and not really like the crazy elaborate stuff that I think of when I think post rock. But goddamn I love it, try not to be put off by the J-poppy vibe you might get at first listen. They really start raging on every album I've heard before too long. Sorry if this has already been posted or just a band everyone knows. Anyway, "mass of the fermenting dregs" !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4CKmzBf5Cs

Edit: after listening to a little more I think this definitely doesn't 'qualify' as post rock for the most part. Some moments certainly have that vibe but overall not really. Some of y'all might dig it anyway though.

I don't think this was mentioned before, but the Watter album is pretty great and would appeal to people who like bands such as Red Sparowes. Nice reverb-y warm sounding guitars.

They have Zak Riles from Grails and Britt Walford from Slint as band members.

Tonight is Caspian's 10th anniversary show in Beverly, MA (their hometown), and to commemorate the occasion, the Mayor of Beverly officially made today Caspian Day. How loving cool is that?

I wish I could be at that show so badly.

Yeah I was extremely underwhelmed by the new MONO but that was probably because of how ridiculously good the new Jakob is.

I just thought about "BOMBOSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" or whatever the hell he says coming out of near dead silence and I started laughing uncontrollably. I don't think that's the reaction they were going for.

I gotta check out that new Jakob and see if it makes up for Rays of Darkness.

Apparently, Red Sparowes have had a huge amount of awesome t-shirt designs at various points, but every single one I can find is either completely out of print, or the scant few left in the world are only in ridiculous sizes nobody bought. Maybe I'll just buy an XXL and shrink it.

I bought the "Screamer" one at a gig in Sheffield years ago. It was a cool t-shirt but the design is far lighter in real life than in the preview. The material wasn't the best, but I wore it until it fell apart which took quite a while.

Do you know how hard it is to google the Japanese band Té

I loved the albums I've been able to find but it's such a hassle trying to get them. I found a 2012 album of theirs, but is it an album or a live thing? I think I have the 2007 and 2010 ones and they were some of my favorite albums ever. The album and song titles alternate between japanese and english. Even on iTunes they seem to have the earlier ones in English than the latest one in Japanese.

On top of that every album has the same artwork with a different color in case you weren't confused enough.

Haven't looked at that site, but they do -- multiple DVD and CD/DVDs, along with singles filled out to LP length with live material.

awesome ghost, just reference their official site. There are english labels of what's what on the music page, and you can copy-paste album titles to find sources / english equivalents. Or you can run the whole thing through google translate to read the rest of the site.

When was that? Was that the show in the Barrowland Ballroom in 2010 or have they played there since? That's where I saw them last time (which was a first for me, to boot), and the atmosphere was exactly right. It was just not as full as it could have been thanks to a lot of snow.
