Anyone know how to check what version of the game is running in uPlay?

Edit: VV Yep, I'm on 1.1. I guess all I can do is hope the 1.2 patch resolves it. VV

I seem to remember it saying in the main menu. I believe it's currently 1.1 regretfully.

So performance isn't the best. Even with the new Nvidia drivers and SLI profile running on patch 1.1 I'm getting a solid ~40 FPS with SLI'd 760s and most settings on medium. Textures on high. tooooons of stuttering. Not impressed, but oh well. It's playable.

It's almost certainly the high textures that are doing it. The consoles shared 8gb memory pools let them have massive amounts of memory for textures, and it really seems like they are using that this gen. Those 2x760s are only, what, 2gb vram each? and they don't pool that.

I've got a single 2gb 770. I've briefly had a 4gb one in there. The stuttering that you see in a lot of next gen console ports when you bash the settings up (AC4, Watch Dogs, Wolfenstein, a bunch) was night and day.

It's going to be a real sticking point this gen where a lot of cards, even cards that were reasonably high end like my 770gtx, don't really have enough gfx memory to match the consoles.

Offensive Clock
The game runs surprisingly OK (20-30fps) with my 3GB 7870HD and an i5-3550, with everything on max (apart from shadows at high) as long as I don't turn on any antialiasing. The CPU usage is only around 40-60% (Though I've not been in Paris proper with huge crowds). Also, all options seems to have only moderate impact on performance - the difference between everything on low and everything on high is 10fps or so.

(This is on version 1.1 of the game and I haven't tried the new AMD drivers yet, since I consider just getting a 970 today anyway)

Has the game got an Physx sliders you could adjust? Black Flag ran great for me, but as soon as I enabled Physx the performance went through the floor. Whatever they did implementing Physx didn't seem to have any optimization, as even the smallest Physx effect destroyed the framerate.

Nvidia have put up their Performance Guide for Unity. The specifics don't apply to AMD cards, obviously, but it's nice to see what the different settings do without fannying about in game. It also mentions that Tesselation isn't in at launch. :(

It doesn't use Physx this time, as far as I know it's just Havok.

This is all true but given that the texture options are 'low' 'high' and 'extra high' I'm less than pleased. It'll be fine though, just need to set a FPS cap of 30 on it. It's the stuttering and FPS changes that get me.

Mine dropped to nothing a few times - restarting Uplay and verifying game files restarted it at full speed. At 97% I'm not sure if it's worth it, but the verification process is quite fast.

It's the initial Abstergo-ified Animus setup they throw you into at the start of the game, while they're still under the pretense that you're just a normal dude/dudette playing a Total Immersive Experience game. Where-in they tease a bunch of AC games that'll take years or never happen.

I'm not sure it actually goes by your location, like I said earlier I can play in Germany (release in 2 days) with my Brazilian key from Nuuvem without using a VPN. I'd say the keys are divided into regions.

Speaking of which the app is awful, even with 100% success all of I've lost 2ish Assassin's in every training mission to the point where I literally cannot progress anymore without restarting.

Created a SA club for co-op on the PC! With the uncreative name of "SAAssassins" and a club tag of "SA" it shouldn't be hard to find. Otherwise you can add me on uplay at Vazeron1 and i think I can invite you then.

And frankly I'd be glad to have some goons to do coop with since lol I don't know anyone IRL who has Unity on PC no less.

I've only run into one REALLY lovely area, framerate wise where you go into that church to find the assassins' hideout, in the early part of the game

I think it has to do with the lighting, to be honest. Although I noticed a lot of little hitches, but those went away when my router rebooted itself, so I wonder if those have to do with the game hitting Ubi's servers for multiplayer, etc.

How bad a frame rate are we talking here on the PS4 and xbone versions? Enough to be an actual problem or just not 1080p 60fps?

As someone who played Perfect Dark back in the day I have quite a high tolerance for bad frame rates. Like people were saying Far Cry 3 360 had a notoriously lovely frame rate and I never noticed it once.

Eh it looks like a bunch are already games. Murder in the Levant is AC1. Ezio gets 3 titles, AC2 (Fear and Loathing in Florence), Brotherhood (Triumph of the Borgias) and Revelations (The Bladed Cross).

AC3 is "The Lone Eagle" and "Washington and the Wolf".

Black Flag is "Devils of the Carribean".

Liberation is "The Liberation of Lady Aveline".

The Emperor's Shadow is going to be the DLC.

Which leaves us with 20's AC and Irish AC.

I'm a fan of the AC series, but based off all the bugs and graphics issues, I'm going to have to stay away from this one for a little while. It seems like a step backwards. Its such a shame they rush these games every year, as the concept is awesome, just poorly executed.
