Kismet posted:Whenever books on Amazon are only available used at absurd prices, it's because the retailers are using pricing bots to juggle supply and demand. When there are plenty of books out there and humans setting market prices they behave sensibly, but when bots are left to calibrate themselves off each other's mark-ups they start spiralling up cent by cent into infinity. If anything, it probably means nobody has moved any of Brooke's books for a while and they're just sitting around gathering dust in overstock warehouses somewhere.

Evil Mastermind posted:Well, it's long established the Brooke only listens to people who tell him what he wants to hear: i.e. that he's an amazing writer. He has to tell himself that because I doubt that many other people will tell him that nowadays. A reminder: this is true on multiple levels. He shut down his own comments section because he was as outraged by his sycophantic fanbase discussing storyline predictions as he was by the trolls informing him he sucked poo poo. In fact he went on more than one contemptuous tirade around that time about how he was The Author and neither welcomed nor desired any input from the dumdums who read his Art. The only comment he was ever interested in receiving was "you are great," full stop. http://chickweedcafe.blogspot.com/2010/12/apocrypha-with-cup-of-joe.html In short, gently caress this guy.

Dustin Takes one to know one, old man. Safe Havens Why not just turn the mermaid into a whale? Too much genetic fuckery? On the Fastrack I don't see how Mrs. Trellis is supposed to be a bad boss when she apparently gives her staff the freedom to screw around so much.

So Bill Holbrook drew some Mary Worth fan art, presumably because he's friends with the creators. I like the Aldo tattoo on her arm. Midnight Moth fucked around with this message at 07:57 on Nov 12, 2014 |

I wonder if some editor finally cracked down on Gilchrist. The last couple weeks of Nancy have been as bland and lovely as ever but they lacked the usual preachiness and Americana. Even Phil "Storm Saxon" Fumble has been notably absent.

goatface posted:She also enters the mirror-world between panels. "Mirror-world?" Would that be an alternate-universe "Dustin" where Ed is a kindly, aging hippie constantly belittled by his son Dustin, an arrogant libertarian stock-broker? Sounds like a more mean-spirited "Family Ties". I might actually read that comic!

I've been dreading this day... J.R. Williams, Creator Of The Tommy Westphall Universe Maybe Williams thought the plot was getting away from him and this was his escape hatch? Jane's World Yep, somebody called it. It's a full furry Holbrook crossover. Non Sequitur Heavenly Nostrils is.. whatever. Kliban 9 Chickweed Lane 11/12/2003 Bleh. Zits Way to teach him fiscal responsibility, Walt. Kevin & Kell I have never, ever seen any herbivore eat dry fall leaves. EasyEW posted:And now, life's harshest blow. I've been dreading this day... Honestly, I thought the cowboy story was spinning out of control ever since Smokey (or whoever it was) killed the bank robbers. The whole business with Smokey trying to romance the schoolmarm, which was the really fun part, just vanished. It's been really hard to follow the last few weeks. But then, trying to do drama in a gag-a-day strip is always tricky. One wrong step and you end up as Funky Winkerbean.
