England was assimilated and everything turned out fine for them. The US successfully beat back the infection, and thought London was just being glib about their situation, that they were still fighting back. The US indicated they were on their way to help fight, and hung up just before London could tell them they weren't fighting at all. It was a good story, but I never like endings before a story is finished. Seems to be a staple of the genre though, slightly better than "Here we go again!" style endings. Also, loved the tune behind the video at the end.
