Definitely not work-related, though. There's a video of Miley and Madonna there. And some awards show.

now its the weed page

ever catch somebody buying drugs on the internet/on their phone at work?

i saw some messages on a guy's phone about buying weed from another guy who worked here, and didn't say anything, because i couldn't possibly care less

they were both mysteriously fired within a month, though, so they must have been ridiculously sloppy with either smoking at work or sending each other texts/emails about it

One of my coworkers is pretty open that he smokes pot. I don't personally care at all but it seems imprudent to just be so matter of fact about it at work.

User's (work) laptop got stolen out of his car. With no signs of forced entry (according to him) so he probably left his car unlocked which in the DC Metro area is a very bad idea.

I wish HR had the backbone to enforce the "your work computer is your responsibility" policy. But at least he told me unlike the person who left their laptop at the airport and decided not to tell me (TSA found it and she got it back).

Re: pot chat. I know for a fact that the receptionist calls her dealer during work (as I've overheard it) and has come into the office high at least once. I don't really give a poo poo but don't bring it into the office for fucks sake.

Drugs must be the modus operandi up in here, because we hired a guy who was fired from his previous job because he was caught masturbating at his desk.

Copy/pasting in Lync 2013 is also hilariously broken sometimes, which sucks when you're trying to copy URLs or numbers someone's sending you and the paste result is half the conversation log.

So I've been asked to set up a disaster recovery plan to get the business up and running within a few hours in the event our building get's firebombed... Because the Jilted Ex is crazy.

I have less than 15 days to accomplish this.

Anyone know of a good cloud host in Canada (GTA)? I figure the best disaster recovery option is to just move all of our poo poo off site. I don't really want to Co-locate because our servers are poo poo and I'd like to virtualize everything into some off site location and keep a RoDC/Fileserver here on site for Roaming profiles and the like.

Keep in mind that, with cloud backups, you have to take the time to download your poo poo. What sort of speeds to you get? Can you download everything AND restore it in a few hours? Don't forget the time it'll take to get the new hardware up and running.

Three layers of backup: on-site, off-site (local), and off-site (cloud), will provide the most speed, flexibility, and redundancy you can get without going gonzo on the whole thing.

I'm looking to move our servers outside the building, into a Data center. More or less a P2V then use some Data center to host poo poo.

I have no idea what the gently caress is locking it out. I've checked mapped drives, scheduled Tasks, any programs that MIGHT have used the credentials and nothing. Nothing seems broken either so I have no idea who used these credentials for what.

It'd have to be more than just SQL though. We also host our own exchange server (I don't know why, there's only loving 10 of us) and a web server. I've been trying to put this poo poo off site for about 2 years now. If a firebomb threat is what it takes then so be it.

Just wish I had more than 15 days.
