Im having fun with it and my friends... I'm sorry, Sire Oblivion... its just not much of a "main" mode as opposed to something along the lines of target blast, imo.

Is there ANY way to have the "tap Up to jump" option be turned off by default? It pisses me off when I forget to in Classic mode and I'm stuck with it at intensity 9.0

Ike was the only character I could play online in Brawl because he was the only one I wouldn't start completely whiffing every hit with the moment any amount of lag was introduced. Also his Side-B hit like a goddamn freight train in Brawl, which they've toned down considerably here. I still like him, though. He's pretty good against the Masters.

Go to Controls and set up a profile with tap-jump off for all control schemes. Everything gets saved to your name, much like in Brawl.

The online on this is so much better than even the 3DS version was. I spent the last 2 hours playing For Fun matches online and encountered a grand total of two (2) brief lag spikes, and no horribly unplayable 2 minute matches that last 20 minutes.

Also, Crazy Orders is amazing.

Here's something I just learned about Crazy Orders: if the ticket has a small hammer in the lower right corner, that means items are enabled for that match. Which is something you probably don't want to gently caress around with because you can get gimped pretty badly if the AI snags a gust bellows or hammer or something.

e: Unless that ticket has a CD. Always go for CDs.

If Nintendo doesn't announce more adapters coming to the U.S. in the next couple of weeks, this is probably what will finally push me to buy a Pro controller.

Using the knowledge about avoiding items in Crazy Orders, I was able to get through 16 battles before facing Crazy Hand. The Crazy Hand fight gets harder the more battles you make it through; when I fought him at 6 battles, he also had one AI buddy. I just fought him after 16 and it was Master and Crazy Hand and two AI buddies!

But I got five CDs and about 8200 gold for it. Crazy Orders loving owns. I suspect this is what happened to "classic" Classic Mode, because that's pretty much how all the fights pan out.

I think I got one, for clearing Crazy Orders after twelve rounds.

I Have Opinions About Smash Bros. 4™, so here's a list of pros and cons based on my own tastes. Its entirely based on what I alone wanted from this game, but it may help you make a decision if you're still on the fence about buying this.

Cons
No adventure mode or anything resembling one.
Stage builder is even more limited than Brawl and is impossible to use properly.
8-player smash may look good on paper, but in reality its unbelievably hectic to the point that 4-or-less-player smash is greatly preferred.
Relatively small number of new stages, and including melee and N64 stages as default without any sort of on-par-with-the-rest graphical update kinda makes them look like poo poo.
Control schemes being bound to user profiles, which is a petty detail, but still.

Pros
Pretty much everything else.
The game is balanced surprisingly well and plays awesomely. This is relative to other games in the series.
The new characters are awesome and most of them fit perfectly into the way smash bros. plays.
The new stages are awesome and imaginative. I can't think of a single one I dislike.
Fewer bullshit stages. You know which ones I'm talking about. There are maybe two stages in the entire roster that I dislike.
Graphically, everything looks amazing. The newer stages, especially.
Master Core/Fortress is totally hella.
At any one moment, there are a fuckton of different ways to play the game. Its been like that since melee, really, but not to this degree.
Online is functional and awesome.
The customizable Mii fighters are actually fun to make and to play as.

This is my impression so far. I still haven't gotten the chance to play smash run as well as most of the local multiplayer features, though.
I will say this: If you have ever played a smash game and enjoyed it, this game is worth buying at full price.
