As people have pointed out, it's not a BAD type, but the writers normally 'justify' them stealing in either a karma (the victims are dicks), Robin Hood (the victims are dicks AND the lady thief is going to do something altruistic with the loot) or educational (the Indiana Jones/Lara Croft 'it belongs in a museum' thing, where usually the 'victim' is long dead) manner.
I would've been fine with any of these, but it's already in a museum! And museums aren't generally that well-financed so it really seemed like she was punching down. You might as well have a scene where she infiltrates and sets fire to a public library.

In a nearly 3,000-word review, you spent almost 1,300 words talking about a television production process that has almost literally nothing to do with the way Doctor Who's production works.

Maybe consider, I don't know, not talking just to hear yourself talk.

Someone went and edited the Wikipedia pages of nearly every Tenth Doctor episode with information from The Writers Tale and made it spoiler free.

But really, I dunno how much time Occ spends on these things but my posts take me 30-40 minutes on average, which isn't much of a time investment when I'm doing it twice a week. I spend twice that length getting angry at Republicans daily.

You'll note that the major originator of the archetype, Arsene Lupin, was pretty much the villain of his stories. I mean, they're entertaining because Lupin goes around pantsing everyone with a semblance of authority in early 20th century France, but he's the bad guy.
The first Raffles short story was published in 1898, while the first Arsène Lupin short story was 1905. Among English readers Lupin is nearly forgotten, while Raffles still gets name-checked if not read. (As you might guess by my pseudonym, I'm familiar with both.) It is, at least, a shared archetype between France and the U.K. Like any picaresque heroes, both of them are simultaneously attractive and naughty. There are both Lupin and Raffles stories in which the gentleman thief punishes criminals/bad people whom the law is unable/unwilling to touch.

(You have no idea how startled I was to see "my" name in the body of that post, which just goes to show how unusual it is to see a reference in English casual speech.)

Hey just be warned that the way they're written they frequently contain references to future episodes, including not just events but themes explored throughout an entire season that might not be immediately obvious till the season is done. Characterization of the "current" Doctor is also frequently noted against how the future actions of that same Doctor (or future incarnations) might color perception of these events.

Basically they're reviews written very much for people who are completely up to date on the revival so far, so anybody avoiding spoilers will probably want to avoid reading them until they get caught up.

Also the current crop of stuff you're writing about (the year of Specials) are incredibly short because I was basically just putting down an initial reaction to my first rewatch. It wasn't until I got a few episodes into season 5 (I went through the year of specials, then season 5 - 7, then back through 1 - 4) that I started getting more in-depth about what I was writing.

All of them, for better or worse.

We're going in order, me and two fellow goons, and are in In Space, which as far as kids shows go is quite good honestly. It's just a kids show, on a budget, so you need to temper your expectations.

MMPR Seasons 1 2 and some of 3, I think, were a fair bit longer review wise, just because we'd try to summarize the entire episode which would lead to tangents and nonsense. Either in the middle of season 3 or at Zeo, we switched to just the cliff notes of the episode so we could get to the meat and potatoes of the actual thing.

It's not comedy gold or anything, but hey, you might enjoy it.

If you want an episode that is really, REALLY bad, track down the Ninja Encounter saga from season 2. Holy poo poo is that worthless garbage.

Easily the best episode of the 'season', though it's not hard when your main competition is essentially a few scenes in the next two I guess.

That montage near the start of Waters kinda drags on a bit, huh?
