If you look at the referenced article it states they only made 3 guns that fire this round. Not including heavier prototype rifles. The gun that fires it weighs 50 pounds.

It also doesn't help that, if you don't notice him until he's just passing your door, nearly jumping out of your seat isn't the best reaction. Can't see how it's supposed to help when you can't hear it until they're too close for you to do anything (and the safer bet is to be predictable rather than unpredictably "helping").

Actually, over ~50mph wind noise in the helmet easily beats exhaust, even a loud one, and many riders wear ear plugs because of it.

Sorry for the picture quality, but the guy was still in his truck and I didn't want to be obvious. There's an identical exhaust stack on the other side. Owner was an old white dude with a huge cowboy hat.

Still, it looks more convenient to go for one of the 20mm AA designs - at least both weapons and ammunition for those have been mass produced (fsvo "mass"). That is one of the more tasteful "stacks". Out here, these idiots just cut holes in the bed and run pipes straight up behind the cab, blocking off any rear-and-passenger-side view. They don't put any heat shields on them, or anything- but its not like they're ever used as trucks at that point.. v- I didn't say that I liked them. I said they were done better than the ones I see out here. West SAAB Story fucked around with this message at 06:03 on Nov 23, 2014 |

It's safer than digging a hole in your garage, that can't fill with heavier than air gases/vapors and kill you.

I warned my parents they really need to change their transmission fluid on schedule. They'd never done it, and still have never done it. Bets on how long a 4R44E in a 2000 Ranger makes it with filthy fluid before it kicks the bucket? (it's already got some hard/slipping/funky shifts occasionally and they aren't doing a drat thing about it. Can't wait to find out.)
