Cliff Racer posted:I find Brown a more credible candidate than Warren, not sure why people think she'd run, let alone get the nomination, let alone win the general. He can't win a statewide election. Why would he be a viable nation-wide candidate? He upset a bad candidate to win a special election that no one showed up to, then got humiliated by someone with no political experience, then pulled up stakes and went to New Hampshire--only to eat poo poo once again in another Senate election. Plus, didn't he just re-sign with Fox?

All these non-starters making noises about running in 2016 makes me think we're entering a new age where has-beens circle around a Presidential run just to draw attention to themselves and boost their profile and maybe catch on with a deep-pocketed sugar daddy or get a Fox media gig or maybe bump their speaker's fees. 2012 saw a lot of base-enthusiast True Conservative "book tour candidates" looking to boost their Q-levels and propel themselves up the right wing media ladder by a rung or two, 2016 may see faded Establishment types doing the same thing.

I think this was in the lead up to his race against Obama for Senate. He was a super nice guy and a great teacher, but for some reason he just really liked reading the Drudge report. His starry-eyed belief in Alan Keyes was just one of the most precious things, and something you don't usually see outside of Ron Paul's supporters and Jon Huntsman's supporter. With the stomping Keyes got there, and then Obama's ascendancy it's just gotten funnier and funnier to me over the years.

It's morbidly amusing (not being stuck in America might help here) that the Ferguson unrest has nothing on the 1960s but the conservative reaction to it is and will be just as hysteric as it was back then. Additionally you are going to be completely lacking any members of the political class even trying their hand at a rational approach into the matter. Reading Nixonland the greatest surprise was probably reading all these liberal politicians actually having sober opinions on the unrest and trying to pivot it into a discussion on racism and poverty.

Someday, someday the Party for Socialism and Liberation will put enough fear into the Democrats to drive them to be a anti-Israel left wing party. That right kind of class consciousness will hit like a bolt of lightening. It's scientific. Til then, I hope that Law and Order candidate is Lindsey Graham. Or Fred Thompson.
