I was under the impression that Steve Austin intentionally shuffled the TITD lineup for every album.

Nah IIRC Derek Roddy had a thing several years ago about leaving because Austin wasn't paying him what he thought he was owed, then other people started coming out of the woodwork saying he's a bit of a poo poo to deal with.

I literally said to my friend two days ago that Chris Broderick is wasted on Megadeth. Good for him for getting out.

Don't see why that's the case. He's on the hook for half a year for tours, a couple months every other year to lay down some guitar solos on an album, and beyond that he's free to do whatever, and he no doubt made more doing that than he ever did or will on his own. As much of a prick Mustaine is, at least he doesn't care what band members do off the clock unlike say James Hetfield. Marty Friedman still had his solo career while in Megadeth, and that was back when they made enough money he definitely could've stuck with the one job.

Magrudergrind's pretty good, as are Weekend Nachos, though they're more on the powerviolence side of things. Hatred Surge is alright if you like the HM-2core/Sunlight Studios sound, and a lot of people were jizzing over the last Wormrot album. That's probably all pretty entry level though.

e: gently caress forgot one of the dudes from Agoraphobic Nosebleed runs a grind label that has some interesting stuff like Robocop and Wadge, and it's all name your price

Already mentioned but the new Gridlink is pretty good.

Dephosphorus are a weird blend of grindcore, death and black metal: some of their tracks are straight forward and they mix it up with some that are slower, almost space-y sounding. Those tracks were from their latest album 'Ravenous Solemnity' but their first album 'Night Sky Transform' is more concise and just a little better.

Cloud Rat's album 'Moksha' from last year was amazing in my opinion: balls to the wall grindcore with the occasional subdued, contemplative refrains here and there (tracks like 'Infinity Chasm'). Their albums are up on bandcamp, plus the compilation they released this year is free and a pretty good introduction to their sound.

Svffer are yet another female-fronted grindcore band with their music up on bandcamp. It's probably fair to say they lean a little more closely to the punk side of grindcore but gently caress it, they write angry and messy 1 - 2 minute songs so who cares?

Nails released one of my favourite albums of 2010 with 'Unsilent Death'; fantastic guitar tone, dissonant, angry and very short. Their follow up 'Abandon All Life' didn't quite do it for me, not really sure why it didn't quite click. The two opening and the titular track from 'Unsilent Death' are a good example of their range.

There's other stuff like Magrudergrind, Wormrot and early Trap Them that also fit the bill, although the former two I haven't kept up with their material so I couldn't say if they're still good or even together.

I loving love Plebeian Grandstand but I still haven't listened to their latest. I'm a massive sucker for the current trend of black metal/crust/hardcore punk stuff, no matter how derivative a lot of it starting to get. Unsacred released a pretty neat EP back in 2012 called 'Where the Light Dims' which totally scratches that itch.

Yeah I didn't like 'Blissfucker' too much; songs were pretty long and repetitive. I completely forgot about 'Dirge', I love 'Abuse' so if it's more of the same I'm on board.
