Severely disappointed I didn't get a shot of Harrison Ford mailing it in in the trailer. I guess I"ll have to wait for the actual movie for that.

10/10 have watched a dozen times and will watch a dozen more. Unreasonably hyped for this since a) I freaking love Star Wars OT and b) I really like JJ Abrams movies. He's a great sense of dramatic scenes (the Enterprise coming out of the rings of Saturn, for example) and I love how...kinetic...his movies feel. The Falcon doing that crazy rear end maneuver at breakneck speeds towards the Tie Fighters is a great example of that. Something about the Falcon's radar Speaking of Lando, if he doesn't make an appearance as a super space pimp, I'll be disappointed, though. I guess I could be down for this, but the ball doesn't look like metal to me - it's got much more of a handball type texture (Specularity? Not sure if I can put it into words correctly). I suppose it could be a padded exterior since if it rolls around everywhere....

Is there a sort of precedent in franchise films for Episode 7 at all? I can't really think of any other major film series where the "main cast" returns long after the fact to play older versions of their previous characters. It's fortunate it worked out that way, but it's still a little weird to think about.

That light saber cross-guard doesn't make any sense to me. It's cool though. I just don't get how it would work, couldn't someone just slide their saber down it's blade and cut through the cross guard emitter? Then again nothing ever stopped Jedi or Sith from doing that before and cutting through someones fingers, so it's not like it light sabers ever really made a whole lot of sense to begin with.

Anyone complaining that this doesn't look like Star Wars is 100% correct. It does not look like the previous six Lucas-headed films. Attempting to ape that style would be a huge creativity-stifling mistake. Don't go in expecting Star Wars, go in expecting new films set in the Star Wars universe. You'll enjoy yourselves more. Having said all that, looks loving great. Huge stylistic shot in the arm for the series.
