Well first off, Darkfall was made by PVP gamers from Asheron's Call Darktide and UO. It was a labor of love and I've always rooted for them. It's like EVE in that I always wanted to like it but just didn't much enjoy the gameplay. But hell, may as well give it another shot, maybe they've fixed the things I didn't like, or maybe my tastes have changed.
