You quoted a post about a videogame, which is why I asked. I think there have been some ZX2 or at least third-gen Escort owners here. I know more about their Mazda predecessors.

My living situation owns bones. My roommate I found on Craigslist is cool as gently caress, gives me $700/mo, and is building me cabinets for my garage (eventually). Super courteous, and he's got a security clearance so I don't have to worry about him doing something crazy. CSB is this how people turn gay? I like him more than my girlfriend.

Passed my ASE test, didnt get reamed for crashing a customers car into a tree (someone didnt pump the breaks up and I was told to back it out while working on 2 other cars) and the city is letting me keep my license due to speeding tickets if I take a safety driving class. 2014 might not have such a bad ending after all.

27.2 and 25.5mpg for each 100 mile leg of the trip so far in the beetle. First leg was dry and 65mph steady flat, second leg was horribly wet, varied between 40 and 60mph (stuck behind semis the ENTIRE half), and was mostly uphill. Pretty pleased so far. E: RCR bros

I've had one good '96, and it was an NG900. A complete loving turd that I fixed up for somebody who was without a car. That $1500 car ended up costing me nearly twice that by the time it was fixed (perfectly, natch, since it was getting CARB'd). I want a hatch again. The '99 Saturn SC2 is a 5 speed and probably has a reserve of $600, too. Power started getting fucky last night (Rain to Snow to Slush to OHFUCK). Went out for good this morning about an hour and a half ago. I'm not too worried. I have two laptops with good batteries, my amazing noname UPS can run the router and cable box for 10 hours.. and as for heat? I've got a gas stove. I'll just light it carefully from a match clipped to an antenna with an alligator clip. I would like to listen to a bit better audio than the $0.25 radio I picked up a few years ago to flip because it was branded with a local event. Never bothered, because it isn't worth all that much. If I ever decide to build a CIS based rally engine, I've got the spare parts for sure. Only one of the Audi 5ks runs, the other is a parts car, but the 5k body is really too heavy for any real fun, so I plan to gut both bodies and scrap them and keep the driveline and powertrain.

Good, keep those around. When I was trying to fix the 5000 I eventually condemned to a life of auction hell, finding a replacement (even used) fuel dizzy was impossible. The 5k body is heavy (sound deadening, waxoyl and tank-thick metal does that to a car) but you can save about 400lb stripping even the front seats and collected trim out.
