With Novakids we thought it'd be worthwhile to have them in sooner rather than later. Lots of people wanted to see them, and I like them a lot personally. I just spent some time today giving them their own name generation, as they were borrowing the human names up till now (which I've also changed). The next release isn't 1.0, and I believe we'll have the rebindable keys in for release.

Key rebinding and planet bookmarking will be in the new stable release micro transaction store. 99 cents for a single key and 1.99 for a planet bookmark.

You'll have to first spend $20 on 5000 mega-gold pixels, which then you can use to purchase Key Rebinds (only 250!) and Planet Bookmarks (500!). That way they can obscure the actual costs, make people buy currency in bulk that they might not ever spend, and entice more spending by offering "sales" on the currency that you spend to buy things that should have been included anyways. On top of a monthly subscription.

Hey starbound team, this is how you do a release schedule... From the Prison Architect thread The Deadly Hume posted:I thought it'd be interesting to list and summarise each alpha so far. It's a pretty good game too, you all should go play it.

AceClown posted:Hey starbound team, this is how you do a release schedule... Different teams vary wildly in size of number of developers, resources etc and have different methods of delivering updates. Right now we're updating every day. Prison Architect also been available in Early Access for a year longer than Starbound, and they might have been further along in development when they started taking pre-orders. There's a lot of factors to take in here, and I'm not going to say we didn't make mistakes along the way. Kernel Monsoon fucked around with this message at 15:16 on Dec 4, 2014 |

In other news, Stonehearth looks pretty good so far. One of the reasons they didn't do an early release on Steam is because of the reaction to Starbound.

We really can’t thank you enough for your continued patience, feedback, supportive messages and contributions to the community. I know a lot of you have been waiting aaaages for a stable update before diving back into the game, but I think you’ll find the wait worth it.

i like that the list of changes is basically a list of items that modders couldve added to the game in 3 or 4 months, if this game still had fans dedicated enough to mod it.
