What movie is this from?

Eat, Pray, Love, a 2 1/2 hour film about Julia Roberts going on holiday and smiling a lot.

It is, admittedly, a pretty film with some interesting shots. But then again, it's also 2 1/2 hours.

My Julia Roberts tolerance level is about 2.5 minutes.

I got it from one of those "fail" compilations.

The bigger kid hears the ice cream truck and is trying to get off the chair to get to it. In the regular video you hear the chimes and him starting to cry after hitting the floor.

I never understood these images. Wouldn't there need to be some mechanical thing inside the camera that recorded this going faster than the speed of light?

I'm not very good at science.

You have to take a bunch of pics of the same scene at different points in time, then put it back together.

No, it's all electronic. Your sensor is either sensing or not, there's not a shutter that opens and closes.

That being said, generally, in really over-simplified terms, how these ULTRAMEGAUBERFASTWATCHASINGLEPROTON framerate things work is that it's compiled from several repeats of the same instance, and each time they capture the moment in the sequence that is just a little later. So say you have a sensor that you can turn on for 20 picoseconds. To capture a 100-picosecond sequence, you'll run the sequence five times and capture a different period each time. The first time you capture 0-20ps, the second time 20-40ps, the third time 40-60ps, etc.

It's like if you had a really slow camera and wanted to make a video of a car driving by, but definitely couldn't take pictures fast enough. So instead you have the car drive by a whole bunch of times and each time, you take your picture just a little later, and then compile them all together in an animation.

I assumed Allison Williams had a long history of theater acting that led to her beating out lots of other actresses for a very difficult part

Nope, LOL

What was the name of the actress who played Peter Pan in the 80's? I remember her being pretty great at the part. Or was that still Mary Martin?

ed: Holy poo poo, that was still just a Mary Martin VHS I used to watch. I wish they had cast Lena Ham as Captain Hook
