The power numbers on 1980s NA diesels is always eye opening. Things were really crappy in the days before unit injectors and turbos became the norm.

We had, at the same time, both a 1985 Jetta with the 55hp NA diesel and a 1984 Landcruiser with the 74 HP NA diesel. The Land cruiser was a pretty awesome vehicle and easy to learn manual on. They were both slow as balls.

This seems like the place to ask. Do you guys think I'm asking too much for my 85 12a RX-7? I've only gotten two bites on it in the last few weeks of it being listed. I've got it listed at $2500, if any local goons are interested I'd let it go for $2000. http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/4764981623.html

I kind of need a truck instead. Especially since I already have a RWD Isuzu Impulse project that I need to finish and take the place of the RX-7. So you guys think I have it priced right then? I don't usually have this hard of a time selling cars in this shape. I'm guessing it's the whole 100hp 18mpg thing that's hurting it the most.

Price is good, but the sill panel is kind of stuffed too. I wouldn't mention the seat tear in your ad, it's insignificant. I've talked down cars with problems before, but they were huge problems (faded paint, dents) to deter timewasters and only get serious buyers to call me. But people would want to know about rust in an old car, either say there is no rust in your ad, and/or if there is some provide photos of those areas. Maybe get rid of some of the extraneous exterior and interior photos and replace with photos showing typical rust areas up, like exposed boot floor or close ups of the door/sill, around the front rear windscreen etc. But the price is good so no idea why no buyers. Could be the time of the year or the bad paint job on the door or the damaged sill, who knows? Fo3 fucked around with this message at 15:54 on Dec 4, 2014 |

I was going to tell you to take a picture of the car outside on a sunny day with a pretty scenic background, but then I remembered you're in Seattle, so sunny days don't exist. Still, the garage is pretty grim. Also, you might try using broken english with terrible grammar, cut back the number of photos to two, and call it's miles "original" on the basis that they are the miles that belong to this car originally. Then put two or three hundred unrelated keywords into a block at the bottom, and demand to only be contacted by phone without including your phone number. I can tell from other posts in this thread that the above is the most common and effective way to sell a car.
