Item Boost potions, weirdly. Just for the Light Arrows. Light arrows can stunlock and kill any tough enemy that chews through your hearts, like Volga and Wizzro. Dinolfos too. Basically anything you can't afford to be hit by, you can stunlock to death. It is slightly slower but that's the only drawback. If you use them with a character with a dark weapon, the darkness buff procs on and affects the light arrows, so you gradually kill that tough captain faster and faster. If you take too much damage/too much time on a stage and want to restart, just die and restart and you won't lose your potion.

And as a victory lap I just A Ranked Boss Rush.

Does the Item Boost potion make you always have the powered up items throughout the whole battle? I'll bet that would help with Agatha A-Ranking that loving map with the three imprisoneds.

Yes it does! There's a particularly difficult Rack Up KOs mission on the TP map (it has an Impa Heart Piece as an A reward), and it's completely invaluable there.

I apologize if this has been said but I think they buffed Sheik.

When I have her water shield up, she no longer gets frozen by a Gibdo's Scream and I know she used to.

So, they make Sheik even stronger I guess.

How did you tackle square F6 - A leader never sleeps, with Fi? This mission is terrible.

Edit: I feel like I have a path down but Fi is such a dogshit character to have to use on the map that I don't know how to do it without either taking an assload of damage or taking way too much time. I guess SP Replenishing potion might help but her special doesn't seem to do that much damage to the enemies I need it to hurt anyway.

Is that the one where you start out with Impa dead ahead of you? Think I used Guard Break and trapped people in cornerswith C6 but that was before I knew about Item Boost and Light Arrows being loving broken.Tbh there are three stages on that battle map that suck, the Fi one, a Cia one and a Ghirahim one, and I solved the latter two with Light Arrow spam.

Yeah, I just did it with the Guard Break potion. Part of me hates these maps that feel like they require those cheater potions, but I guess that's why they gave them to us. Also Light Arrow spam almost certainly wouldn't work on this map, I think, what with the dozens of captains assaulting three different areas.

In case anyone else tackles this mission, my general route was:

- Take the keep right in front of me to start
- Immediately go south and kill the four life-barred enemies attacking that Messenger (one is Ghirahim)
- Go back north and free the other Messenger up
- If necessary, kill captains harassing the third Messenger that spawns.
- Clear out the base and/or take the keep just to the north of it while waiting for Mission Successful
- Find the Negotiator to stop the Rampaging Soldiers ASAP
- Probably clear the base out again because for some reason 100 dudes in the base can't take on one powered up Darknut
- Get the fairy from the far right keep
- Murder Link and hopefully never have to play the level again.

What's so great about the lower left Master Quest square for unlocking the Master Sword? I did a few runs and it doesn't really seem that much better than other ones, really. Is it just because of the Argorok and Manhandlas that might give you some good items?

It's the highest listed level for Rack Up KOs on the MQ map, so it's best for EXP leveling while also going for the kills. It's also a relatively small and compact area, with two of the Magic Jar Troops respawning fairly close to each other on the left half of the map.

Ah, makes sense. When I saw people mentioning it I thought maybe it was possible to get more KOs there than on other similar maps. But yeah I did notice the magic jar captain spawning right near the beginning, and I'll probably keep using that in the future then, I have been gaining good levels from it.

I know the full power Master Sword has the highest attack power of any weapon but the fact you can't add stuff like +Materials or +Rupees to it means I don't see much of a point in using it most of the time. It's kind of a shame that the Legendary ability on anyone else's weapon seems mostly pointless as well as it only increases the attack power of a five star level 3 weapon by 30 points. I guess that you can put it on a five star rank two weapon and have a 450 attack power weapon that way, but it still doesn't seem useful. And yeah I know it works on rank 1 weapons as well but since those seem to have a maximum of three slots you wouldn't be able to put much else on it.

I have weapons that have 150+ damage for Link and Shiek, but no one else. I finished Legend mode last night on normal and have been playing Adventure mode all morning and still haven't found poo poo for weapons. For example, the best weapon I have for my level 26 Fi is an 86 damage sword. Am I unlucky or am I playing this game stupidly? I became very aware of this in an adventure map with Fi when trying to defeat some aerofolos and eventually the Imprisoned. It took me several minutes to clear the aerofolos and I've died three times fighting the imprisoned cause I just can't dish out damage.

You probably only have the tier 2 weapon for those two weapons
Link, Shiek, Impa, Lana, and Zelda's base weapons all have tier 2 unlocks found in chests in certain keeps in Legend mode - the rest are unlocked in Adventure mode by "A" ranking specific squares (they'll say what they unlock once you search the square)

Spectacle Rock

There is this one level on the Twilight Map you have to A rank to continue in that direction. It was the most challenging level I've done so far. It took literally everything I had but I finally beat it. The feeling of accomplishment was amazing.

I learned something. The hard part was not taking any damage so you get A rank and there were a bunch of barrier keeps.

If you repeatedly button mash the dodge button (B) over and over while within a barrier keep you do NOT take damage.

This is useful if you need to pass through and/or take out a barrier keep and do not have the corresponding nullification fairy. Here's how.

Have your special meter full.
Roll to the center of the keep.
Use your special.
Roll to another area of the keep with a bunch of enemies,.
Use special again. Now hopefully the Keep Boss appears.
Roll towards Keep Boss and use special one last time to take Keep Boss out.
The keep is now yours and the barrier is dispelled since you captured the keep. As long as you were constantly dodging with the B button and/or using your special you'll lose no hearts!

I felt so when I discovered this. As long as you have 3 special meters you can navigate through a barrier keep and probably take it and take no damage.

Here's another good part. Let's say you are in a barrier keep and you didn't take it yet, just smash the B button to LEAVE the keep, gain some more special meter, and then return. :homebrew:

That's a cool trick. Another is that the barriers don't do poo poo to you if Focus Spirit is active. Still, every one of those "take the barrier keeps" levels has Fairy Hunters that respawn when you take one of the elemental keeps, so you shouldn't ever need to take advantage of that.

My general gameplan in those stages was to take out the first Fairy Hunter immediately, take the keep that has a fairy in it, then take down the first barrier. This would make another Fairy Hunter spawn and usually also a Barrier Specialist or two. Go take out all those dudes, then take the other two barrier keeps.

That's how you get tinnitus

The only weapons unlocked through legend mode are Link's level 2 sword, the Master Sword, the level 1 Magic Rod, Impa's level 2 sword, Sheik's level 2 harp, Lana's level 2 book and level 1 spear, and Zelda's level 2 rapier. Everything else is in adventure mode (aside from the spinner from the Link amiibo, and I forget if Epona was part of DLC or just added in a patch?)

Here's a handy list of where everything is. Some of the legend mode unlocks require you to capture a specific keep in that level, so you might have missed those.

Is there another way to get someone's 8-bit weapons other than just doing another A-rank on the stage that unlocks it? Ganondorf is real close to being a keyblade master and I'd really like it if I didn't need to light arrow cheese that stage again.

It's pretty much luck, but you might also see them as Network Link prizes, and you seem to have a much higher chance of getting weapons for the character you're playing as. So I guess my answer would be Network Links and playing high-difficulty adventure levels with Ganondorf, ideally with Stars+, Rank+, or Slots+, depending on what you're looking for.

Yeah, I just need this weapon and the lv. 3 Great Fairy...and Agitha and Zant's lv. 3s...

I got pretty close last night, but I took waaaay too much time, almost 20 minutes I think. I mostly just ran straight to the keep with the fairy in it, then ran back to kill the Gold Cucco, and then ran around killing things and protecting the base before I went to murder the boss. I did take a lot of damage, but I still got an A on damage with about 9k, so I think the threshold for that mission is 10,000 damage? So I guess don't worry too much about damage, if that helps at all?

I took the West Boulder Keep, because I'm pretty sure the trigger for Darunia appearing is taking both keeps. However, the enemies took back that keep, and I left it that way until I had beaten Darunia twice. You're right that Impa was on her way over there, and she had almost reached it when I beat Darunia the second time. I'm not sure how else to do the mission, really. Maybe by beating Darunia twice, it means that you beat him once, let him retreat, beat him again, let him revive, then beat him again? The first time he retreats but the second time he just sits there but revives eventually, I assume. Maybe I should beat him that extra time, just to be sure.

While unlocking the Master Sword today, I found that the Boomerang can grab distant items and bring them to you like in the normal Zelda games. There's no real reason to do this obviously, it just happened because Manhandla was sitting next to an item when I threw the boomerang at it, and it grabbed the items for me. So that's kind of neat even if it's useless.

Ignore the Gold Cucco. It takes too long to get rid of and it's usually not going to get in your way.

My path for the Level 3 Gate was take out the Aeralfos right in front of you at the start, then run up and beat Girahim so that Cia doesn't lose too much health. After that, head down to the allied base which by now probably has a few officers in it, and defend that. By this point Impa has probably left the fairy keep and is headed towards the keep near where you started, so go battle her.

Get some more KOs and then take out the remaining officer (if you haven't already), then if you're not near the allied base, head to it quickly because a bunch of Dinolfos are going to rush it when you finish the first mission. You don't need the fairy (there's nothing in the barrier keep you need) so ignore the fairy keep. Fighting Girahim and then heading for the allied base will make going for the fairy keep too time-consuming. The Gold Cucco seems to always set up shop in the barrier keep when it's fully grown, so you can get the Boss Key without having to mess with it.

Yeah I'm not saying don't take the West Boulder Keep, I'm saying don't let Impa reach it until you've beaten Darunia twice, and the best way to accomplish that is to not take the West Keep (West Keep and West Boulder Keep are two different keeps). So leave Impa to fend for herself in the West Keep (she won't be in any danger), get the 1500 KOs, and beat Darunia twice. After you've beaten him twice and gotten the 1500 KOs, then take the West Keep, let Impa get to the West Boulder Keep, and you should be good I think.
